"Count the things that didn’t go as you wanted, always fearing only to appear worse than what you truly know yourself to be. Precise counts to remember how many glances you avoided and how many words you didn’t say to avoid disappointing. The home, the entire day, the journey you took to feel more secure, closer to yourself, but it’s not enough, it’s never enough." With a domo-sludgecore base, this stuff is like nails in the eyes...

I follow you more on Facebook than on Deb and you always crack me up: your tastes are miles away from mine, but I read you with interest because every judgment you make seems well thought out, never "a priori." The idea of having no barriers, no mental closures - in music, but not only - is something I always advocate, yet I don't always manage to put it into practice. Regarding TF: I would NEVER buy/listen to one of his albums. And I think we get that part. However, I find him likable. Better yet, I started to find him likable when it turned out that he's a real softie: I've heard him in a few radio interviews and he's someone who’s had his fair share of kicks in the ass and a few bruises on his cheeks have stuck with him. In fact, I think he produces his best work when he makes some crazy moves: the lyrics of "Scivoli di nuovo," for example, if you read them well, are a real foot-shooting reminder just to remember that you're still alive... Stuff that we’ll never hear sung by the various Amiconi di Maurizio de Filippis. I give you a 5 because I'm a sucker and because in the end, I rate things however the hell I want. :)

A beautiful story of a lovely moment. She, I confess I've only heard her on YouTube: I got curious about the stage name she chose (personally, I find it, um... a bit "presumptuous"...), but I was almost immediately put off. In some passages, she reminds me of Concato. In others, Rino Gaetano. It's not my cup of tea, sorry.

Nice page! As soon as I have a couple of minutes, I'm going to take a look at your reviews that I haven't read yet.

My brief period of gaming nerdiness coincided perfectly with the legendary feud between the Mega Drive and the Super Nintendo discussed in the (excellent) review. Of course, I had the crappier console (the Mega Drive), and all the games I wanted to play were only coming out on the SNES (especially Zelda and Mario Kart)... And then there was the whole debate about how the SN was slower but had zooms and rotations that the MD could only dream of. Good times, but also, not really. As for Sonic: great platformer, no doubt, but its direct competitor (Super Mario World) was dishing out so much goodness that it could feed an army. For longevity, gameplay, variety of situations... Honestly, it was a whole different race. A completely different league. Almost a different sport.

I remember that when it arrived in Italy, a bunch of us gathered at a friend's house just to watch the first episode together. We looked like the protagonists of Fanboys: a group of nerds wearing Simpsons t-shirts and the excitement barely contained at the thought of seeing something else made by Groening. In reality, we were all pretty disappointed: I think the early episodes are somewhat immature, almost unsure about which direction to take and what kind of comedy to pursue... over time, in my opinion, it improves significantly, especially as some characters emerge that are quite delirious, like Calculon or the Hedonism Bot.

I’ve had it in the car for a couple of days and it’s really driving me crazy. I mean, for now it feels like a collection of paths that have been so trampled they’ve dug a ditch. Same sounds, same structures, same solutions, same arrangements. Nothing bad, for sure, but there’s really very little charm left. Maybe it’ll grow on me with more listens, who knows…

I really don't get this genre at all, but to me (as a gnurantùn) they seem extremely overrated. And for a few years now, by the way. I don't dispute that they can do their job very well - especially live - but all the hype I've heard about them is frankly hard for me to justify.
