Verdena Il suicidio dei samurai

Liked a lot at the time of its release, over time it has become their album I like/listen to the least (with the sole exception of the extremely immature debut, which has never really thrilled me). It doesn’t have the instrumental abandon of Sasso, nor the abrasiveness of Requiem. An album that at many points is almost "pop" (not in a necessarily negative sense...), which in others smells too much like Radiohead, with a production that I just can’t get into (that voice that covers everything gets annoying after a while). Nice (because they haven't made any bad albums yet), but - as mentioned - quite diminished over time. I’ve seen them live a few times too and, frankly, calling them even "embarrassing" in a live setting seems a bit exaggerated to me.

Be careful, though, because Mafalda has nothing to do with the Peanuts since the author is Quino (maybe you already know this and I'm the one who misunderstood your comment, and if that's the case, I apologize). By the way, practically the entire production of Mafalda is actually an attack on the Argentine military power...

I had never really read much of the Peanuts, except for a few strips here and there. I only knew the characters. For my birthday, I was given a volume of The Complete Peanuts by Panini: I absolutely fell in love with it... there are some stunning strips: 3 panels and a handful of ink strokes that can leave you speechless.

I've got it! A record of ignorance that touches the sublime. Great review!

Jokes aside: I listened to 30 seconds of a couple of songs, and it seems to me like one of the most guitar-heavy albums by Manovals... Louder Than Hell was indeed a noisy mess in terms of sounds (and composition). Even Hail to England sounded a bit empty (but made up for it with over-the-top songs like Bridge of Death). Here, it seems to me that aside from a bass drum-snare that's a bit too present, the sounds aren't all that bad. The intro of Manowarriors (incredible that they hadn’t used this cheesy title yet...) sounds pretty full to me, and I don't hear much of that buzzing bass. Power of YouTube?!?!?! :)

No, but this thing about the song made with the titles of songs and albums twenty years after another song that did the same thing and with a cover identical to that of Sign of the Hammer... no, really... 5 for life.

"The album 'Hail, kill, and die' concludes with a list of the albums and songs by the KINGS OF METAL." 5 right away.

I don't understand: so this volume (or is there a volume that) collects the entire work?

5 stars for everything. 5 stars for the review because it’s incredibly faithful to reality, especially in the part where it says I'm handsome. 5 stars for the concert because it was my first Flaming Lips concert and I wish there was another one tomorrow to take my girlfriend to and another one in X years to take my daughter to. I haven't had this much fun (in the pure sense of the word) at a concert since that time at a Manowar concert when Joey Di Maio fell flat on his face because of a cable. 5 stars for the excellent Darkeve who turned a blind eye to my congenital rudeness: as soon as I can breathe again, I’ll come visit you and offer you a beer. And then, damn, celebrating a birthday with a huge concert is always awesome. Hooray hooray hooray! Confetti confetti confetti! Giant octopuses giant octopuses giant octopuses!!!
