This guy is really an idiot! Once my guitar teacher showed me one of his instructional videos. In the end, he turned off the TV and told me, "This is everything you should never become!ā€.. but is it true that he used to write soundtracks for porn movies?!?

Thank you very much for the votes! @Fidia: to be honest, I’ve pretty much stopped listening to it too.. it just continues to be the genre I’m most knowledgeable about. I noticed that there are a lot of "historical" albums of the genre missing reviews on Debaser, and rather than reviewing Reign in Blood or Master of Puppets for the umpteenth time, I thought it would be better to describe albums that might be less well-known, but equally valid..

The review "isn't badly written"?! Besides the fact that "isn't badly written" sounds terrible, I hope you'll agree that paragraphs like "Really played well and it’s fun to notice the obvious variations in lyrics, solos (which are played flawlessly by Slash, almost studio-quality) due to the stage presence," or "Then comes 'Mr. Browstone,' slower than from 'Appetite,' and sometimes Axl's voice drops and gets overshadowed by the instruments" etc. etc. seem quite poorly written!

Jarva's voice was one of the elements that made "Amok" an absolute masterpiece... I will get the album just to listen to it one more time! Great review!

...so you suggest removing the 5 stars for metal albums?!

Do you want a cover so ugly it ruins the album?? Check out "Crystal Logic" by Manilla Road.. in comparison, this looks like the Virgin of the Rocks..

Stop, stop!!! It's been almost ten years since I stopped listening to this genre!!! Back in the day, I listened to them along with a ton of other bands and... well... it's a bit like what I said earlier: they never did anything transcendental (in fact!... probably from a technical standpoint, they were always the weakest of the Teutonic power crew), but I don't recall them making any huge blunders on a musical level (unlike the much more respected and "untouchable" Helloween, for example), especially, as I already mentioned, in the early part of their career when they weren't yet the idols of hundreds of kids with leather jackets and not too long hair, or else mom will complain! The attitude and working-class approach certainly don't increase the quality of a band's musical offering (that would be something else!!). I just wanted to say - referring mainly to NeKro's comment - that it doesn't seem fair to go after a band that, until 3-4 albums ago, was doing its job with dignity, staying in the background and not posing as the champions of metal!
