Thank you so much, everyone! @Bisius: I've been really tough on you lately. You could have "gotten back at me" (very much in quotes... I can't find a better term) by going all out on this review... and you didn't. I appreciate that. @Vi: if you don't know the band, start with Mental Vortex! Most consider it the true masterpiece of Coroner (then there are the filthy ones, like me, who still occasionally listen to R.I.P., but that's another story :DD!). It's more accessible, but still very unique. @Francescobus: Vetterli is a truly superb guitarist... he may not have the genius and madness of Piggy, but technically he might be superior. I've seen some of his live performances: his sound cleanliness is impressive, he switches from solos to rhythm with incredible speed, he plays with dynamics, mixing aggression and melody with almost irritating naturalness... and then I spent my adolescence trying to play by ear (mostly in vain) the riffs from their debut album. In "Paralized, Mesmerized" there's pretty much everything I want from a guitar solo... the comparison with Petrozza is won by technical KO!!:DDD!!!!

Thank you very much to everyone… by sending this review I knew I would have to face Kosmo's judgment… and I must confess I had some concerns (I browsed through the existing Coroner reviews and couldn't help but notice the affection you have for this band…). A special thanks, then, goes to his magnanimity… I hope I have earned the nice score! Bye!

As far as I'm concerned, it's the masterpiece of Sentenced. Even today, years later, I still enjoy listening to it..truly a beautiful album. The solo heights that Tenkula reaches in this record (especially in the solos of Forever Lost and Nepenthe..) would practically never be found again in a Sentenced album. The review, I apologize, but I didn't really like it: the introduction is too long, I didn't quite understand the various genre transitions you used to summarize the band's career, you didn’t mention the influence that the change of singer would have on the band's sound and, above all, you talked way too little about the album!!!..this is - in some ways - a transitional album that took them from the melodic death metal of their beginnings to what they would do from Down onwards..it's a hybrid genre, but a highly successful one, where many influences come together perfectly, which, in my opinion, deserved to be highlighted more. Sorry.

..hearing them on vinyl (to tell the truth, I had downloaded a few mp3s..) didn't impress me much and mostly left me a bit perplexed (are they for real or are they just pretending?!?). Then I took a look on YouTube to see if there were any videos and.. well.. I admit I was very impressed. Pure sonic delirium. I won't rate the album because it's too "far from my ear," but the review is really nice.

..for me it has been almost ten years!!!!!..so I’d say you’re muuuuch more reliable than me!:DD!!!@ venusiano: when I was a kid, I had a friend who, when he didn’t know what to do, would stick two fingers down his throat and vomit. It goes without saying that he thought these guys were geniuses!..needless to say, I always kept my distance!!

I read that to record the vocal lines for this album, It poured boiling wax down his throat and shot himself in the foot!!.. did no one tell him that if he shot himself in the ass he would scream even louder?!?..Lethe, but wouldn’t it be "for eternity"?! ..damn I don’t remember a damn thing about Latin..

Fucking question: but how much does it cost? .. from what you say, a good part of the material on the DVD is stuff that’s more or less already seen.. and on the CD there are only reworkings of old tracks.. I mean, put like that, it seems to me you're right when you say it could be a starting point for a new fan.. but what about the others?! .. to be honest, it doesn't seem all that appealing to me!

I didn't mind it at all!!.. on the contrary! It's short, effective, from a semi-unknown group (as you say..) and with a touch of irony. The genre makes me sick to my stomach and I certainly won't kill myself to get this record, but I think you deserve a passing grade. Bye!

I don't know either the group or the album. But I really liked the review and I will try to give it a listen. Well done.
