...I feel like a real pain in the ass, but I took a trip on Wikipedia and... well, unbelievable, but I was right!.. only that zenith is spelled without an "h"! And anyway, you were right too: it comes from the Arabic "nazìr al-samt" which indeed means "equal and opposite to the zenith".... aaaahhhh... I apologize for the hassle! Bye!

This has always been my favorite album by Sadist.. really good!.. watch out for inaccuracies: Sometimes etc etc should be translated as "A volte ritornano" like the collection of stories by Stephen King. Nadir, I believe, should be understood as the opposite point of zenith, but the bullshit is just around the corner and I wouldn't be ready to bet money on it. Tommy back in the day was pretty cool: live, he would tap the guitar with one hand and play the keyboards with the other!!.. too bad Andy was/is a complete nutcase.. at one concert, he came on stage holding a chicken.. oh well! bye
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds The Firstborn Is Dead

A heartfelt thank you to everyone.. really.. I’m going through a hellish period at work: coming home and reading your comments has lifted my spirits! Thanks again.. I had the "misfortune" (very much in quotes..) of discovering Nick Cave's music only when the Murder Ballads came out, and by chance, I read "And the Ass Saw the Angel" shortly after buying this record.. I believe that, despite the considerable distance between their respective releases, there is a whole play of references and visual and sonic self-citations between these two works that greatly enhances the value of both.. in short, perhaps "And the Ass Saw the Angel" isn't a masterpiece, but I think you can really find a lot of Cave from that period in it. I apologize in case anyone didn't like the Ken Russell reference (and, obviously, to "the Devils".. great burns!!).. for the rest, the first five words of this post always apply.. Bye!

The review is indeed a bit too concise.. strange that no one has suggested your reversal crucifixion for calling Rage "one of the best heavy metal bands of the last 10 years," considering that power (and this group in particular) is not held in high regard on this site! I haven't really listened to the album, like the last two or three, sorry..

King is, indeed, the bald head, the big wrestling enthusiast. But be careful, because up until "Seasons.." he also had a thick mane (the video for War Ensemble is really cool, where good old Kerry shows off a spiked bracelet that has set a standard: being able to play what he plays with that thing hanging must be quite a mess…).

What you can see today on the covers of many extreme metal records is nothing more than the normal evolution-exacerbation of a modus operandi that has always existed. The goal is always the same: to amaze, to strike, to attract the audience's attention... and to sell!! Simply, the audience has become increasingly savvy regarding satanic imagery and religious provocations. A few years ago, Sinead O'Connor made headlines for tearing up a photo of the Pope live on TV... are we sure that something like that would have the same effect today?!? I don't think so. Slayer has always been a band of provocateurs... simply, if they want to stay true to this label they have sewn onto themselves (which has probably been an ingredient of their success), they need to keep astounding the audience, raising the stakes every time. That there are idiots who claim to be Satanists because Araya sings "I am the antichrist all love is lost, your God left me behind etc etc etc"... well, the day he sings: "how nice it is to be shit on by an elephant"... will everyone rush to Africa dressed as latrines?!
