..not to mention that the deep saudade of Aristoteles ("Mister.. nobody loves me.."+Banfi singing a lullaby samba with a glass and fork..) closely resembles some "existential crises" of many football stars today (whose bank accounts are not a Lino Banfi movie!!:DDDD!!!). Hi everyone!!

@embryo: ...mmm..I would say excellent observation!:D!! In fact, calling it "one of the most beautiful comedies ever made in Italy" is at least excessive and disrespectful. The reviewer definitely went overboard on that. Your description of it as a "simple pastime" is much more accurate. What I meant to say is that, at least from my point of view, this film does its job (that is, passing the time while bringing some laughs) excellently! My ratings for the review and the film were mostly intended as "compensation," considering the unanimous criticism they were receiving! P.S.: just one last observation, not at all provocative: okay, it may not be "an intelligent and thoughtful mockery".. but if I'm not mistaken, some "commonplaces" used in this film turned out to be grounded, didn't they?!?.. far be it from me to sanctify what is and remains a trashy mess.. but let's not demonize it!! Cheers!

One of my absolute five favorite films. Brilliant... simply brilliant. Right from the start, I expressed doubts about the choice to combine music and film reviews... even though the quality of the latter could (can) certainly not be considered low. Well!.. time will tell!:D! Hi everyone and congratulations!

Good reception and great comment from Tabba. Certainly not a masterpiece, but in terms of visual impact, it's excellent! Bye!

Oh my goodness, so many memories!! "I would like to talk to Mara Canà":DD! Of course, it's not a masterpiece of contemporary cinema, but I don't think it aimed to be! The comparison with "high," "cultured," "normal" films is unfair! Go for a 5 for emotional reasons! Hi everyone!

@happy:..are you sure it’s 100% Italian?!?..okay for the authors, but I thought it was an Italian-French coproduction (and that thanks to the intervention of some far-sighted producers from across the Alps, they managed to get Karloff’s participation and a decent international distribution.. hence the English title..). Unfortunately, I can’t cite the source.. I apologize if it's (dots) nonsense (dots).. Bye!

I remember the album being good, but it's been years since I listened to it.. Reception is okay, but I hate track by track. Sorry.. bye!

I subscribe to Happy.. Rece is nice (although the super top-notch remains Barbara Steele.. I still have in my mind the good Price coming down the castle stairs calling her "Elizabeth..!!"), but I wouldn't call it genius! Furthermore, the film is not even among my favorites by Bava.. By the way, as far as I know, this is one of the few Bava films with a budget higher than that of a 5-year-old's piggy bank.. Too bad because the embarrassing low cost of "Terrore nello spazio" and "Reazione a catena" wasn't bad!:DDD! Hello everyone!

Great review for one of my favorite albums (I would say alongside Spider's Lullabye and Them) by the King Diamond... Hi and... enjoy the "noise made randomly" everyone!
