I saw it over the weekend. I mean, I didn't think it would be so long, and I had to pause the viewing to go out and smash my face on Saturday night, then I picked it up again on Sunday afternoon. Now I'll speak honestly: at certain points it reaches peaks of visual-narrative-existential enjoyment that I rarely experience while watching a film. But I also have to say that in at least a couple of passages it ends up being a bit soporific. Some amazing sequences have stuck in my mind, like the long continuous shot skimming the water, the transition from the waterfall, the arrival of the dog... In the end, I wonder: is it the fault of the "average" viewer (a category I admit to belonging to) who doesn't have the capacity to appreciate such a deep viewing, or are we really facing a hefty piece that aims high, very high, and that, all in all, wallows a bit in its desire to be "difficult"? The difficult verdict lies ahead...

Beautiful page. Remarkable review and plenty of comments, some really interesting. The album, on the other hand, just can't seem to get me excited. I keep putting it back on almost "forcibly" in the hope that, sooner or later, some song will make me jump out of my chair or from the car seat, but it just doesn't happen. A definitely pleasant listen, but it doesn't stick to me the way I hoped... Let's hope it grows on me over time.

Listened to these days: really a good job. Puffing and rotten like a lovely carcass in decay. Nice riffs, nice lines, nice dynamics. Dorrian increasingly hoarse. The only thing that doesn't drive me crazy for now are the guitar sounds, definitely too buzzy, and some solutions that are typically "90s," which sound rather dated. In the end, though, a good farewell album.

I haven't visited the site as often as I'd like lately, so I'm not up to date with many dynamics and characters... However, honestly, Talkin's comment didn't seem that reprehensible to me. I mean: he certainly would have been better off not limiting himself to those two lines where he acts like a know-it-all about morphological lenses and explaining a (nice) bit more about what’s so superbàbà about this film, but if he feels something is missing in the review, then he was right to say so. If you then tell me he’s a serial spakkacoglioni who loves to splash reviewers in the face and then run away like I've seen in some definitely spakkaossa Japanese videos on xvideos.com, then I take it all back and sheepishly join in the snowball fight of crap!!! :)

I first met him on the blog (some things are brilliant, like the one on "Old People and Computers," "Save Every 5 Minutes," "The Captcha," all of which are definitely funny). Then I bought his latest book "An Octopus in the Throat," which I found really beautiful, entertaining, but also moving, especially at the end. Finally, I got this one: honestly, I didn’t like it very much. Aside from the fact that my copy is flawed and has about ten to twenty pages all mixed up, I didn’t like the idea of interconnected mini-stories too much: too many things just touched upon, some great ideas but not fully developed. Those skilled would say it's "a work that's still raw, but already shows enormous potential." One last thing: Makkox's introduction is quite annoying. By the time I got halfway through, I was almost tempted not to read the issue just to avoid agreeing with him. I’m really fed up with this bunch of nerds, pathetic losers, fucking geeks who HAVE TO ALWAYS AND IN ANY CASE try to be super funny, all in the same way…

What is fear???? Fear is the greatest feeling of human beings, the one that guards us all within the feeling of sex: sex.

As I wrote at the bottom of another of your reviews, it starts strong, with a good pace and some interesting and/or funny ideas, but it completely falls apart in the second half. Probably the worst of the Coen's films that I've seen.
