Damn!! I would have sent it myself soon!! The review is okay, especially because you mentioned the slow-motion scenes that are, with good reason, the most interesting part of the film: many have a tendency to find socio-philosophical-existential meanings in this movie (if it can even be called that..) which, in my opinion, somewhat overshadow its essence. A prime example in this regard is an interview from a few years ago in which Tsukamoto himself candidly stated that his intent was mainly to make an erotic film or at most to talk about the crisis of relationships in Japan. I watched the second one a while ago, but I remember it as a bit of a disappointment.. Much better is A Snake Of June which, at least in terms of directing, I absolutely loved!

Well, maybe!!.. joking aside, university has cost me a fortune, I've had to do some jobs you can't even imagine (excluding prostitution, of course!!).. if they were to give me a refund, I'd be living like a gentleman for a couple of years! The last twenty minutes of Audition, filled with eye-poking needles and bones sawed with wire, were indeed quite a slap to the face... and now you tell me this is even worse!! I have a strange relationship with Miike: there are times when I really go out of my way to catch as many of his films as possible (..quite a challenge..). Other times, he really annoys me... I don't know... However, the review, even if a bit confusing in some parts, really piqued my curiosity!! Bye!
