Death'.. the review is excellent as usual.. but that "the songs emit a smell of an abandoned chapel, left to the dominion of vegetation" reminded me of a series of middle school jokes (to exaggerate..) that would be too generous to call Boccaccian.. I retreat sadly into my childish humor.. Hi and congratulations again!

..yes, but you also have to look at the release dates of the albums!.. I mean: Pantera really annoy me; I listened to them quite a bit for a certain period of my life like everyone from my generation did, then I got tired and now I get hives every time I hear the first notes of "Walk." However, you have to give them credit for having rewritten the rules of the thrash genre. That's why the comparisons made by the reviewer don't hold: the second half of the '80s was the age of thrash: Bay Area on one side, Germany on the other. Then, towards the end of the decade, the "classic" thrash of Metallica, Slayer, Sodom, Kreator, Destruction basically ran out of things to say. The big names survived either thanks to the prestige they had built over the years (Slayer, and "Divine.." anyway shows a significant change in approach) or due to a rewriting/abandonment of the genre (Metallica, Kreator), or they faded into oblivion (Destruction). Then these four rascals come along and start doing thrash that is as powerful and aggressive as that of the founding fathers, but modern, detached from the typical traits of the genre (e.g.: drum beats tupatupatupa and guitar shredding at 200 mph..) that would inspire the subsequent evolutions of the genre. I repeat, they annoy me, but this credit must be given to them..

The reception, as usual, was endless, but really excellent. Well done!

@Lethe:..tsk.. tsk.. your infernal music box is no match for my "Tapping ribalta orsoline": it is said that due to this exquisite technique of my invention (which involves not only the fingers of the hands, but also those of the feet, as well as the hairs of the guitarist's butt who performs it), to this day, at least 15 young nuns have renounced their vows to audition for the next Cradle Of Filth cover!

How strange: you mentioned 3 albums from '86... and all three have nothing to do with this... oh well... I agree with what Carlito and Death said. I'm going to play a couple of "immortal" arpeggios before going to sleep...

Halfway through, I got fed up, but I found it quite entertaining despite all the repetitions and the lexical blunders. I’ll give you a passing grade because I like you, but please, change your listening habits.. it’s for your own good. Do you like epic metal?!.. well.. there are at least 2-3 hundred bands that are more serious than these clowns. Or at most, focus on the early albums! Bye!

@velluto: thank you so much for considering my opinion. Although I still suspect that the professor will NEVER find out about the rape… I'd say this film needs a serious revision! @skyvalley: ..mmm.. forgive me, but I don't quite agree with your comment.. Firstly, because defending the village idiot is, in my opinion, little more than an excuse for the professor who, at most, can be seen as wanting to oppose the villagers in an almost childish way (I mean: at one point they almost kill him in the car scene and he doesn’t lift a finger, but then when they go after a perfect stranger, he makes a huge fuss.. it smells a lot like: "Ah, I'm smarter and more civilized than you savages who want to lynch him.."). Secondly, because what you say is just a different way of expressing what both velluto and I have said. You call it the rebellion of the "Fantozzi Man", the awakening of the wild side, the return of the warrior man. That’s valid, but that’s the effect. What I wanted to highlight were the causes, and the cause is what you yourself have identified: the defense of one's territory which, in our case, coincides with the bourgeois home and the wife (the "female" in the civilized pack). Let’s not forget, though, that there’s also the risk that I might not understand a damn thing.. and at that point, I’ll leave it to your kindness! Bye!
