Premise. I think I’m the only man on the face of the earth who doesn’t appreciate Federico Buffa’s storytelling style. I know many get excited just at the thought of Buffa recounting that one time he overindulged in lentils and his wife made him sleep on the balcony, but not for me. That elliptical way of starting from the postman’s mother’s hip prosthesis, who on a Tuesday afternoon, around 2:37 PM, left a postcard from Hawaii in the mailbox of the next-door neighbor of the actual protagonist of the story, and opening up, every damn time, these huge, infinite parentheses, often unnecessary if not inappropriate, has always driven me absolutely crazy.

But do you really listen to "Traditional Sumerian music"? Do you have anything to recommend? I couldn't find anything on Spotify...

I just discovered you, but – at least for this Saturday morning – you are my favorite derecensore. Too bad you listen to stuff that I hope my kids never hear. But I enjoy reading you. So keep it coming. Now I'm giving you a little heart and doing all those very social things that people do in these situations.

At first glance, I was about to give a terrible rating to the review. Because it was too brief, lacking in information, and not very descriptive... and while I was thinking about it, I ended up on YouTube looking for this album because I wanted to hear how it sounded. Let’s be clear: I think it’s awful and I hope to forget it as soon as possible, but it really takes something to pique my curiosity lately. Well done!
Megadeth Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?

I should start by saying that I haven't listened to them in at least a decade and, most importantly, I don't mean to undermine the quality of the album and the musicians involved. However, I must say that the only album I’ve truly worn out by Megadeth is Rust In Peace. I recognize a remarkable riffing on the reviewed album and some masterpiece tracks, but frankly nothing that can hold a candle to that pile of masterpieces released between 1986 and 1990. I've always attributed a certain clumsiness in the compositional phase to Mustaine: he produces astonishing riffs, which often feel a bit stuck together with tape and lose some musicality in the song. The final result is that an entire album ends up tiring me out.

You seem like a nice guy and all, but honestly, you've written more than Salvini during his election campaign. Some of them are just unreadable. If it was meant to be a troll, you're about 15 years late: back then, we would have had fun! Bye bye!

The review seems passionate and knowledgeable, but the track by track really grated on my nerves. I confess I got halfway through and then some. Anyway, I wanted to say something else (I wanted to say it in the first review for this album, where I saw a bit of excitement came out, but I didn't have time and now I should go look for it and I don't feel like it). Reading the comments, it seemed to me that basically no one liked Lightning Bolt, while the Avocado was indeed a great album. Apparently, I must have lost my mind: I think LB is a good album, with at least 3-4 excellent songs and the rest is listenable, and a few years down the line, I still remember it quite well. I must have listened to the avocado 3-4 thousand times back when it came out, hoping that sooner or later I would like it, but I never really liked it, and I swear I don't remember a single song from that album even if I push as if I were trying to take a dump. So much so that the one after, I think it was called Backspacer, I've never even listened to on Spotify. So? Should I re-listen to the avocado? Does Backspacer deserve some drops of my precious time?

It went like this: I had seen that you had posted some stuff, but with the chaos of the lockdown, I hadn't had the chance to read anything yet. Yesterday, I had a couple of free hours, and wanting to listen to something new, I randomly picked from the latest reviews and put these on, without reading a single line of review. I swear, I thought it was brand new stuff! I liked it a lot: hypnotic, swaying, unsettling atmospheres... For me, a great recommendation.
