Domination Through Impurity Essence Of Brutality

Hi fenni!.. I saw in the playlist that you’re swamped with work: no vacation at all this year? P.S.: do you happen to have any news about the supreme Francescobus? Bye!

He deserves it, he deserves it... and then the whole "learn to play better than him etc etc" is as big a load of crap as Galeazzi's ass! If the technique is put to the service of shitty songs, those songs remain shitty! According to your reasoning, any criticism of an artist could only come from someone who knows how to play-sing-write etc. better than him: absurdly, albums and tracks by technically skilled musicians should be considered masterpieces regardless, without the "average" public having the opportunity to criticize... So would Malmsteen have only made beautiful records?!

Great review as usual, but listening to the samples, some statements seemed a bit exaggerated to me. I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve had a chance for a more in-depth listen. One last question: what does Agostinelli have to do with the Afterhours?!? Bye!

I heard something and I humbly feel like agreeing: well done, for heaven's sake, but after a while it gets annoying. I tried to keep up with the guitarist and he really sweeps like crazy. The sick one, though, is the drummer; what you say is true: the drums are way too triggered and there are just too many snare hits! Exemplary take. Best regards.

..mmm.. from what I've heard of the reverend (just a couple of albums, to be honest..) I really only liked Speed Of Pain.. maybe that's a bit too little to call myself a fan!:DD! Look, I'm one of the least qualified people to passionately defend Tool: live, for example, they've always sucked for me. In any case, I think the problem lies in the fact that you probably prefer a more direct type of lyric, tied to aspects that are more "imminent" (such as in Vicarious which, for me, isn't particularly exciting and, indeed, I find quite banal: was there really a need for another lyric against "modern television apathy"?!?). Regarding Hooker, it's clearly a rant-mockery at a certain type of fan (try rereading the first two stanzas) and I think it’s pretty funny. Sintkfist, try reading it as a description of a sadomasochistic relationship (I don't want it, I just need it, to breathe to feel to know I'm alive) - victim and executioner to escape apathy ("I can help you change tired moments into pleasure" + "How can it mean anything to me if I really don't feel anything at all? I'll keep digging till I feel something"). But maybe I'm just talking nonsense.. :DD! Bye!

Neil Young and Elliott Smith are just two of the artists I've discovered thanks to your reviews. I don’t know this album, but I’m trusting you and I’ll get it. Hi Don, it’s always a pleasure to read you.

@Horizons: I deduce that you have never seen the video for Stinkfist, nor have you caught the "subtle irony" that accompanies the lyrics of Hooker.. :DD!!

..it's you who defined it "damn". I've never been against the desire to stand out. The problem, perhaps, lies entirely in that "at all costs".. maybe, it's precisely in that "at all costs" that the difference lies between the ones you mention and, I don't know, a Costantino, a Corona, or a fake on debaser..

I should clarify that I first saw this movie when I was a kid and later rewatched it in more recent years. In my opinion, the film, in itself, isn't bad at all. The problem, if anything, is that, nowadays, it can never have the same unsettling-disturbing effect it could have had on the audience of its time, if only because of the improbability of the "pretext" from which the nuclear attack emerges (the East-West Berlin tensions). Anyway, my favorite film about the bomb remains Rapsodia D'Agosto dell'Imperatore.
