The fact is that all my acquaintances (girlfriend, friends, relatives, snakes..) are away these days. I'm at home alone like a dummy writing reports for the Order.. in short, I'm bored to death and I check "refresh" on Latest Comments like every 5 minutes :DDD!!.. at least until tonight I'll see and hear everything!!

Poletti's comment (whom I greet) reminded me of a passage from "The Cinema According to Hitchy" that surprised me quite a bit back then. Background: It's 1925, Hitchy is 26 years old and is filming Pleasure Garden. Here’s the excerpt: "After I finished eating, I stepped out onto the sidewalk where I found the camera operator, the girl playing the part of the native who jumps into the water, and the newsreel operator. (...) I approached and asked, 'Is something wrong?' 'Yes, the girl can't go into the water.' 'What do you mean she can't go into the water?!?' 'It means she can't go into the water, don’t you understand?!?' (...) The two operators were forced to explain to me about menstrual periods. In my entire life, I had never heard of it before. I listened carefully to their explanations and finally said, irritated, 'Couldn't you have told us this three days ago?!?' In other parts of the book, while talking about his relationship with his wife, he says: 'Despite having been engaged for so many years, we had never been alone. We were very pure.'.. I can believe he became the Peeping Tom Baron!

@bjorky: I didn't dislike La Signora etc etc, but Depardieu's character is quite irritating in some scenes. I still can't explain the presence of the "frame" (the owner of the tennis club who tells the story...).

Hello everyone and thank you so much!.. as you may have noticed, this is not a very "technical" review: you can find dozens of them online where you can read a lot of interesting things: Truffaut playing with directors (first comedy, then noir, then melodrama), the dedication to Renoir at the beginning of the film, the intertextuality (Hitchy above all).. This film is beautiful. Period. It’s beautiful because it’s well directed (I absolutely love the scene where the two protagonists try to retrieve the money left in the apartment..), because Deneuve in some sequences truly takes your breath away (by the way, this is one of the very few films where SHE SHOWS HERSELF NAKED!- after this cap lock, a big influx to this page!:DD!) and because seeing Belmondo play the fool doesn’t bother me at all!:D! Maybe it’s not Truffaut’s best film, but it’s the one that made me fall in love with this director, so it deserves these 5 big stars! Bye and thanks again!

But what a "bad jerk"!.. it's you who got off the wagon as soon as you smelled shit!!.. and the feelings?!.. and what about your son?!.. Nina, I've always respected you as a woman and as a stunning girl (before the botox..), but now I feel like I have to side with Fabrizio. The review is excellent, the proposal intrigues me. Well done!
