@Electric: ..mmm.. to tell the truth, I didn't really pay attention: I confess I haven't spent too much time on this album (it's not exactly fun to memorize an album you don't like!!:DDDD!), not to mention that I had to shelve my guitar aspirations for a couple of years now.. In short: there’s a good chance you're right!:D But come on, "1" seems pretty harsh to me.. I reserve that for albums that are just total trash! Hi and Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone!! A shoutout to Purpu, Cla, Ole, and Festwca: damn, I'm sorry I snatched them away from you.. small consolation: the new one comes out in spring, which should be followed by a live and a DVD. Considering the wheelbarrow of shipping costs I have to cough up every time I want to buy one of their records, I guess I should find myself a second job..

Here the thing, in my opinion, is complicated. Pestilence, as everyone knows by now, has been my favorite band for years, so let's say I had just a few expectations for this album...:DDD! The problem is precisely those expectations: personally, deep down (but not too deep...), I wanted the successor to Spheres. Period. It naturally makes me feel disappointed!! The only way to appreciate it, in my opinion, is to listen without musical prejudices and see if you can find something good in it. And, in my opinion, there is something good: the sick melodies in the solos, the volume play, some truly remarkable rhythms... then of course when you hear "check it - check it" it does drop your spirits a bit, but "1" in my opinion should be kept for farting in the shower! Nice review! Merry Christmas!

I'm sorry, Battlegods, but even in this one there are a few inaccuracies... aside from the Manowar discussion (which, as you've already been pointed out, have nothing to do with Germany): 1) I really don't believe that Running Wild were influenced by Possessed, since Seven Churches is from '85; 2) Certainly among the major influences of Rock'n Rolf and the guys are Satan (just look at The Ritual on Court In The Act!), but I would say more so from the subsequent albums and definitely not for the satanic themes (considering that, aside from the monicker, Ross and the guys had very little that was satanic..) 3) Honestly, I've read Slayer et similia a bit too many times. I believe it would have been more appropriate to mention bands from the later phase of NWOBHM like Jaguar. For the rest, I agree with Ole: man, the track by track for albums like this isn't essential, actually.. it weighs down the review, increases the risk of repetition, and forces you to resort to tired formulas like "The voice is true metal and is well supported by the GOOD guitar." Anyway: great album, raw, but angry. The best one, however, still remains Death Or Glory.

I really appreciate your way of reviewing films: the movie almost always becomes a springboard for a broader reflection. Well done indeed. Honestly, I also noticed the reference to the partisans. Recently, I read a passage from "Il secolo breve" by Hobsbawm where it was emphasized that the role of the partisans in Italy, from a military perspective, was fairly marginal, while their "spiritual" - ideological role was undeniable. And to think that at school I was taught the opposite... oh well!
