@sfascia: indeed, I fear that my French needs a little brushing up.. :D! Little Tony singing Cuore matto with a hoarse voice?!?...DEATH TO FALSE MUTANDE DI PELLE!!!

As far as I'm concerned, the "evil" lies in having gone from being a good group to being a bunch of clowns. And this record would make even an armadillo spray its ass like an airbrush! For me, that's more than enough...

"low reverberations from a voice that is very high nonetheless," "chords that are certainly not infrequent," "is more scornful in the lyrics, precisely regarding arrogance," "a scenario of desolation that can also be linked to the results of wars," "has docked in tenth position," "but for those who have placed these last ones at the top, do not overlook this album either." How can one possibly disagree on all counts?!?

What a deliciously tempting proposal! The reviewer is clearly the owner of a depersonalized controlled electromechanical press. :D!

An interesting review-reflection that manages to analyze many aspects of the film without revealing the plot. Not my favorite from Bava, but I would still say it’s a good film. The "chromatic drifts" of some scenes are really tasty (like the one from - I believe - the third murder). One extra point for the remarkable presence of pheega throughout the duration of the film! :D! SPOILER: Am I remembering wrong, or does this film also have the credit of being the first to use the "double" killer trope?!

I don't know. Strangely, this is a genre I've always barely been around. You're very good!

I, on the other hand, care about you a little less: I've been trying all afternoon to write a comment in which I define reviews like this as mere masturbatory acts, and every time I've been interrupted! Now I find out you stole my idea! :DD!

I downloaded it some time ago more out of curiosity, and I was shocked: it's an album of terrifying prolixity and banality. If you remove the various introductions, interludes, and tackiness, what remains is a truly astounding musical emptiness. And then I can't understand why, nowadays, to play even vaguely "epic" music you need to hire an orchestra of 50 pieces, sample even the farts of a stallion, and resurrect instruments presumably used in some strange medieval period of some odd Aztec civilization (this is a general point, not related to this album). Cirith Ungol, back in the day, would break ass like they were breadsticks, using only bass, guitar, drums, and a singer who was perpetually angry, like Ratzinger in the presence of Satan himself… and nobody ever cared about them.

It was exactly the confirmation I wanted. It's as if you had told me: "I listen to DeGregori, but I don't like Pezzi di Vetro," "I listen to Slayer, but I don't like Angel Of Death," "I like Selen, but the saga of 'Concetta Licata' left me indifferent." There’s a contradiction in terms; it means you are looking for something in a group (in this case, Sabbath) that would naturally be sought/found in other groups of a different genre.

@starblazer: unfortunately, you're catching me in a couple of days of work-related delirium: I have a half-hour lunch break, so I’ll be brief, concise, and schematic. A) From your list you left out (thanks to Odin) Wheels, Snowblind (probably among the 5 most beautiful Sabbath songs ever), Supernaut and Laguna (So that's 4 out of 10 songs). B) Under The Sun manages to simultaneously anticipate the doom metal of the '80s by Vitus, Trouble, Witchfinder General and the like (with the opening riff) and the stoner sound of Kyuss (with the verse riff). The instrumental closing, moreover, with the "classic" double solo is awesome, and there are some self-references from NIB that, personally, blow me away. So - for me - a masterpiece (and that makes 5 out of ten). C) FX is an attempt, if we can call it that, a bit extemporaneous and naive, at psychedelia in the clear attempt to vary a sound that's too compact. I don't see how a 2-minute experiment (it didn’t seem much longer) could diminish an album (and that makes 6 out of ten). D) Tomorrow and Cornucopia are not among my favorite songs (although the first one makes my head bob up and down with pleasure!:D!), but I wonder how you can call them trash and say you like the Sabbath. E) what’s missing... Changes? Maybe my blind, mute, and deaf fandom makes me confuse crap for pure Swiss master chocolate, but I find it a really beautiful ballad: good piano work, beautiful "keyboard" line (I can't remember what instrument it is) that stands apart and adds a bit of depth, and great performance from Ozzy that I find rather "sincere," if you know what I mean. I repeat: if for you an album like this is "horrendous, boring, and devoid of any interesting ideas," in my opinion, you’ve picked the wrong band. Then again, maybe I’m wrong... Bye.
