...mmm... the tracklist takes up more space than the review. But was it really necessary to include it? These demos are fire: I heard them a while ago, I don't remember where, and they're amazing.

A round of applause for Snowblind for their excellent judgment. But Christ...

The album may have been a flop, but it seems to me that the Jewel-bocce are in great shape.

A huge and very welcome return!! I’m so happy to see you again on these pages! Congratulations really: great review, I just hope it’s the first of a very long series. It’s been too long since I listened to this album; it’s probably best if I don’t vote on it. Your vote, on the other hand, is quite obvious.

In my opinion, there are "sound walls" and "sound walls." The Metallica, by their own admission, drew inspiration from the NWOBHM of Diamond Head, as well as from Motörhead. Moreover, in some of their more intense passages (especially on K'EA, think of Hit The Light) there’s a punk-like attitude. As initiators of thrash, they focused on rather linear structures and rhythms: straight 4/4s and the usual slowed-down interlude before the solo. From what I understand, however, Blue Cheer had their roots in a more pompous and acid blues, from Cream to Hendrix: a testament to this is especially the choice of fuzzy sounds (which contrast with the decidedly less acid and more Marshall-style distortions of the 4 horsemen), the use of wah wah (virtually absent in the 4 boars), as well as Whaley’s work which, in my opinion, cannot be defined as linear at all. Add to that the average speed of the tracks. All this to say: in my opinion, there's no guarantee that a fan of early Metallica would enjoy this album... quite the opposite.

I also think the Metallica have nothing to do with it, especially regarding the speed. Great album, but in my opinion a tiny pubic hair below Vincebus.

Saw it a while ago: good movie, but in some parts, excessively slow and melodramatic. A movie can make me smoke for two reasons: either for the tension/emotion or to have something to do. In this case, for the latter. Gioacchino Fenice is really likable: he has a strong jaw, but also a very underwear ad kind of look… in short, a sort of straight Nick Kamen.
