I really liked this review: I think I'll try to listen to the album, even though I'm not in the right mood! :) Too bad about the comments, it could have been a nice page..

During lunch break, I was noticing that the same feeling of "home nest" that the theme of Colpo Grosso used to give me (https://www.debaser.it/main/Video.aspx?y=iOOCECXSLIY), is now given to me by the theme of "Gusto" from TG5 (https://www.debaser.it/main/Video.aspx?y=zdJBMw0hcv4). It's tough dealing with the decline of senile libido...

I don't want to be the apologist for crap, but these movies helped me discover the magic of my preteen body almost as much as the girls in Colpo Grosso. The cool thing is they aired in prime time, you could easily watch them with mom and dad's approval, and they guaranteed at least a couple of erections per viewing, plus material for a week of fantasies. Colpo Grosso, on the other hand, I had to record in secret, and I ended up with some colossal embarrassing moments – you'd put on a family movie and suddenly you'd get the cherry saying, "Hot, hot!!!"

Two months of vacation... And I have to keep the lamp on even at night to get a tan! Considering the Saturdays and Sundays for the remaining ten months, that adds another 80 days, and with the holidays, long weekends, etc., it comes to 100. This gives a total of 160 vacation days against 200 working days. Basically, it's like working only on even days. Just doing this math makes my head spin... Interestingly, it's worth noting how good old Paolo sends reviews non-stop during the work period and announces the suspension of review activities in anticipation of vacation. @Il_Paolo: I'm already sending you my resume!

@apocalisse: no need to thank! It should always be like this, right?? :DD! As for the reunion, as I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm pretty skeptical: it feels too much like trying to ride the wave of the early 2000s thrash revival, which, by the way, from the little I follow of the current scene, already seems to be showing some strain. That said, just reading the names involved is mouth-watering... we’ll see!

I think I explained myself poorly. I was referring to your phrase: "Even if we declare ourselves lovers of metal and niche music, etc etc etc." I didn't understand: first you talk about the fact that this album wasn't successful, then you seem to link the flop of the record to the crisis of thrash during those years. But the thrash in crisis during that time was the "old school," the traditional one, the one from the first two albums, which is exactly what Forbidden abandoned with Green and Distorsion. In fact, the change in sound implemented in the last albums can, in some ways, be seen as an attempt to adapt to the demands of the audience and new trends. My reference to Tankard was not meant to be a compliment! My point is: didn’t Tankard sell a damn thing in the '90s? Of course! They were doing the same stuff they played in the '80s, and people didn't care anymore. Did Forbidden not sell a damn thing in the '90s? Strange, because they changed their sound according to the market's evolution and the public's tastes.

Let me get this straight: you leave on July 14 and come back on September 23?!? … you’re talking about a vacation that “would have lasted JUST A MONTH”.. Damn, you’re worse than a public employee! two months of vacation.. I'm shocked..

Good job because it was missing. Honestly, I don't quite agree with your judgment on the album, nor with some general considerations you've inserted in the review. The album isn't trash as many were quick to say back then, but it's certainly not a masterpiece. It's a bit too compact, although some experiments (Turns To Rage) aren't bad. I've never been convinced by Anderson's voice. Whether he could do it decently is another story; I still prefer him with high notes that blow the squirrels' minds. I didn't understand your point about the mainstream: in my opinion, it was groups like Forbidden that changed their sound in an attempt to conform to the new demands of the audience. The problem is that in doing so, they found themselves in a hell of a limbo: the purists-traditionalists labeled them as traitors of the old school thrash cause, while the new generation of listeners looked at them with suspicion, as if they were old-timers trying to act like kids. Those who really didn't give a damn about trends are others; think of Tankard: they've been making the same album since '84 and are still around, and, above all, they made it through the '90s without needing any compromises musically.
