Thank you so much again, everyone! @ocram: you have no idea how happy it makes me to "meet" you so often lately! Too bad the good Francescobus is on vacation, otherwise we could have had a nice get-together. Regarding the issue of "judgments about websites," I'll tell you, in my opinion, at the base of your legitimate concerns, there’s something much less "genuine" than "de gustibus," especially in the realm of metal. I'm not talking about classicthrash, which honestly seems managed by a true enthusiast, but rather the various sites where "industry professionals" write. Too often I’ve found myself reading pages drenched in the desire to either be snooty with their noses in the air ("ahhh, the future of metal is in the Lithuanian avant-gardes where Viking meets the instrumentation of the ancient Aztecs"), or revivalists at all costs ("ahhh, it’s a shame no one plays like band X that only released a 7-inch in 1984 before breaking up..."), or absolutists with exceedingly good taste ("ahhh, the album by Arbitrater?! An indispensable masterpiece from the first to the last note! - but has anyone even heard of these damn Arbitrater?!?:DD). What I’m about to say is a huge cliché: the internet can be an amazing resource for "objective" data (like the NWOBHM Encyclopedia: it’s a really cool site because it’s packed with objective historical information), but when it comes to subjective data, I’m afraid nothing can replace a good pair of ears!:D

Don't worry Anatas, it's not you who can't see the differences. It's just that Lola is the classic "reverse fake." Go read article 61 n° 2 of the criminal code! ;)

What few comments! It's really a shame that such a good record is so little known...

I don't know this, but I entrust to my comment (as well as the necessary compliments) a request: send it in bombs! Let's not leave the okulare section at the mercy of those who review Mortal Kombat or Pieraccioni...

I don't know whether to laugh or cry: I've only just started writing about metal again a few days ago, and I'm already fed up! :DDD! And to think that I used to listen to these albums day and night about ten years ago!! Anyway, thank you so much to todos!! @andrew: if you don't know it yet, take a look at classicthrash.com: it hasn't been updated in a couple of years, but you can actually find some of the most obscure bands in the genre there (including Arbitrater!:DDD) with some little reviews, which, to be honest, are not always reliable. If I remember correctly, for instance, Inferior To None by Cyclone is considered the Basilica of St. Peter of thrash, while I remember it as a half pigeon poop.

With The Wicker Man, you touch on a very sensitive topic: for a whole series of reasons, I saw it at the cinema. I knew it wouldn’t live up to the original, but damn... I hoped it would at least be on par with an episode of Lucignolo! Oh my god... truly one of the 5 most awful films (western, eastern, northern, and southern) I've ever seen in my life. I still remember people yelling: "Enough!", "Die!", "Burn, you idiot!". Seeing Nicholas Cage dressed as a bear karate-chopping the girl from Misery is still a weight on my heart today.

I also really liked Kairo/Pulse: truly of infinite sadness (by the way, when I watched it, there was yet another American remake in the works, did they ever do it?!). As for Kurosawa-bis, I might have liked Cure more. I still remember today the scene where the guy hides behind the couch as the "shadow" slowly approaches... brr...

No, no... here it's completely different! From this point of view, the review can be a bit misleading... Basically, this is a thrash album through and through, with an American flair, and on top of that, a vocalist who sometimes screams in a rather annoying way. It's just that in some passages (not many, to be honest, the most striking case is in 21ts etc etc...) they slip in the classic blues riff and throw in some pentatonics and such. Let’s be clear: it's been a few years since I listened to this album, but if I remember correctly, the result is a bit "artificial." There’s no real mix or blending of the two genres, just coexistence or proximity within some songs.
