I agree: I found the first part very engaging. In the second... well... maybe it's just me lacking the necessary sensitivity, but it really seemed like a series of nonsense. Like: "Let's hook up," "Wait, I need to brush my teeth," "Okay," "No, I've changed my mind, I can't do it," "Ah! then I'll go back to Sweden to hook up with that other one." I repeat, maybe it's my fault for not picking up on certain psychological nuances in the characters, but some situations honestly seemed on the edge of ridiculous. As for the writing style, I’d say it's impossible not to agree with you. ;))

But, indeed, rereading it these days has been an incredible disappointment... I had a very positive memory of it. In fact, if I remember correctly, I went to read "Due di Due" by DeCarlo just because it was mentioned in this book!:DD I picked it up again during these forced days off and... well!! I thought to myself: "Is that it?!?" I was worried I had lost my mind, but your comments reassure me!:DD As for the recent hyped debut authors, I tried reading La solitudine dei numeri primi and it didn't exactly strike me as a masterpiece worthy of the Premio Strega...
