I'm in the very first listens, but it seems beautiful to me. Perhaps certain more immediate things risk losing something with repeated listens, but for now, I would say kisseninkula. The review seems perfect for this album.

The review is one of the most unnecessarily verbose, cloying, self-referential, and masturbatory things I've ever read on this site. However, I see that everyone loves it to bits, so it must be me who can't appreciate its beauty. They, perhaps for the first time in 15 years or so, have made an album that I truly like.
Damon Lindelof The Leftovers
Voto:
It's a very beautiful series, which has the only flaw (if we really want to consider it such) of being slower than average. In reality, there's a very correct management of narrative timing. The first season, in particular, has a practically perfect narrative structure and masterfully sows the clues that lead to the grand finale (among the best things I've seen in a TV series). In some ways, it's the result of a perfect, unique, and rare combination of the investigation into the unknowable and the cursed flaw of that fucking idiot Lindelof of never knowing how to "close the circle." Perhaps the second and third seasons are a bit more laborious, but I am really glad I watched it.

Having also watched the second season (not that it takes much). What bothers me the most is seeing Fincher's name associated with such a "thrown together" product in terms of writing. The visual aspect is almost always at excellent levels (especially Ghiaccio, which has a very nice design; Snow in the Desert and Cabina di Salvataggio are objectively on par with a live-action), it's just a shame about Il gigante affogato, which in its faces and animations feels too much like PS4.5. The writing, on the other hand, has no justifications for being so banal and half-hearted. The fact that in a miniseries of 8 episodes, even 2 share the same plot is an insult to intelligence. It's impossible to believe they couldn't find better screenwriters and that the project, as it is, found investors. The only thing I can salvage is the Christmas episode, which is still something we've seen/heard/read before, but at least it's not holding back.

The first season was a bit hit-or-miss. Some episodes I still remember, but more for their charm than for their memorability (for example: the one with the farmers using mechs to kill pests or the one about the dump). Then there were a few experiments (the one with the fish in the desert), some interesting ideas (the steampunk setting of the shapeshifting cyborg episode), and a lot more that I feel I remember not being fully utilized (the one with the wolf soldier). I've been hearing some negative buzz about this second season... Overall, I've started having some issues with animation, and when it comes to Japanese animation, don't even get me started. I've started at least 10 Japanese series that I probably would have devoured 20 years ago, and they all seemed like absurd nonsense to me. The first ones that come to mind: Demon Slayer (which I read is the best-selling manga in Japan since forever, and honestly, it's the same stuff dressed up in a not-so-different sauce), The Promised Neverland (which I should probably give a few more episodes to), Pacific Rim (which has nice design but a somewhat inconsistent plot), and especially Kakegurui (which reminded me why everything that's "manga" is now unbearable and indigestible to me). On the flip side, I admit I had a good laugh (and at times a little bit of self-pleasure) with Prison School. As for Western animation, I believe that after Bojack Horseman, "adult" animation doesn't make much sense anymore. I was intrigued by F is for Family, but then Netflix started hiding it from me, and I got fed up...

It's kind of funny, but I need to make it shorter, otherwise after a couple of reviews you run out of steam and don't know what to write anymore. I read Doom. I'll listen.

Many years ago, I had the chance to listen to a couple of their albums (if I remember correctly, let's say 2 and 3, but it has really been a long time...). It was a period of great musical bulimia for me: I developed a frankly ridiculous obsession with heavy psychedelia, and everything with a fuzz and a delay had to make its way into my PC speakers... The experience, as far as I recall, wasn't particularly thrilling: it's worth mentioning, however, that the enormous number of albums and bands I listened to at the time often corresponded to a guilt-ridden superficiality of listening. So, perhaps, they deserve more attention. Nice page.

Oh my gosh, what a terrible movie... Honestly, I really love light-hearted films, and I mostly watch only those since I just don't have the energy to see dramatic ones. But here, the concept of "thrown together" is redefined. The female lead is very beautiful, and Bentivoglio always seems brilliant at playing certain quirky characters. The rest, for me, is just a no. And the review doesn’t say anything interesting either.

I, on the other hand, don’t know them at all... never really heard of them! Even this Morby guy, I have some vague recollections bouncing around in my head, but it’s nothing substantial: is he the one who sang like in Domine? I’m sorry, but too many years have passed since my metal days. Anyway, the review isn’t too bad, it has a bit of punctuation that isn’t quite right, but it seems to me you have the right approach. And you’ve pointed out an album I don’t know, so that’s already good. Whether we can really talk about a "masterpiece," I’m a bit skeptical, but who cares. Bye.

Nice review. I only know them by name, but it really piqued my curiosity. I’ll get Stage Four. Well done.
