You are already one of my favorites. You write a lot and well about albums I don't know and/or bands I've never even heard of. I will definitely check them out. Keep them coming!

Reading the opening, I was expecting a huge mess. And, indeed, it could have been, but somehow it’s handled in such an ironic, light, and surreal way that the result is quite amusing. For example, the scene of "Ubi est latrinam?" in the hands of another director would surely have slid into vulgarity or a gag with Massimo Boldi pooping himself, but here it turns into something sweet for both adults and kids. And then I was expecting a much more approximate reconstruction of ancient Rome. Thanks for the recommendation!!

Given the comments from Pixies and Larrok - and since the topic is dear to me - at this point, a question arises spontaneously: which other films do you think address the theme of the movie more effectively and/or originally? It's a sincere question, based on genuine interest, I swear there's no polemical intent.

It's a film that is difficult to categorize into a single genre because what it seeks to convey is equally difficult to classify: not just the processing of grief, but - more generally - living with "the monsters" we carry inside. You are right: calling it a masterpiece would be an exaggeration. But it is a film that is truly "well made," both in terms of writing and execution: everything is polished, everything is thoughtful, every choice reflects clarity and mastery of the project. Well done for bringing it to these pages as well.

In practice, I find myself agreeing with all the previous comments. The photography is stunning, Anderson has his own style/signature (which I personally appreciate a lot, but I can understand how it might become tiresome), some characters are wonderful, many are well-drawn in just a few shots, while others are somewhat neglected. The final assessment is definitely positive, but if you scratch beneath the "packaging" (which, I repeat, is beautiful), what remains is a very enjoyable film, but not exactly a masterpiece.

I found the (I believe) previous album on Spotify, the one about Trapani and another city that I can't remember right now. I listened to it while preparing lasagna and it seemed to me togo. Quite "crooked" and noisy, and therefore togo. Super toghissima recommendation!

Great review, which I largely agree with. It's a good live album, just ignorant enough, certainly dispensable, but not bad. It mostly suffers from the lack of a few "hits" from that period (I believe due to the semi-impossibility of performing them live decently, considering that at the time they couldn't yet afford to have on stage a philharmonic of rich elves and griffons). The only aspect I disagree with is the evaluation of Immaginatios, which, almost 20 years after its release, I still consider to be the pinnacle not only of their discography but also of the German power metal scene (it competes with Land of the Free, which might be prettier but less fierce). Well done.

American football has always fascinated me. I’ve followed it for a while, and I think that once you get into the mechanics of the game, it can be a lot of fun (although a bad FA game risks being something you wish a shark would come and bite your balls off). That said, the Super Bowl final has always elicited a mix of sadness and concern. There are these 50-60 poor souls fighting for eternal glory while carrying the weight of BILLIONS of people watching, and a gargantuan media machine playing for BILLIONS of dollars in just a couple of hours. I think of the players locked in the locker rooms during halftime, while the rest of the world lounges around with beer and popcorn getting hyped up over Katy Perry’s ample assets, and even more than the Roman gladiators, I think of Schwarzenegger in The Terminator...
