Here!! It's him! Thank you, Dream!:)) I remember one time at an old Goz of Medal: I was in the parking lot, I had just gotten out of the car when a chilling, shrill, and brutish scream pierced my cerebellum, and I immediately thought, "Look, the Domine are playing!" Here!! I knew there were some big names in that crap!:DD I spared myself the Heimdall, while I was practically forced to listen to the first Hammerfall: nice first song, cute second, decent third... by the fourth, you felt like enrolling in a university course for manure shovelers! :) Never understood why they were so hyped. Another super-hyped band was Domine (of whom, frankly, I've lost track) with that singer who screamed terribly whose name I can't remember...

@SuaEminenzaSfasciosa: what can I say, Reverend?!? These are just youthful sins, indelible stains of sauce on the tank top of my musical childhood. And anyway, Rage aren’t even the worst band I’ve listened to. In the top ten of the worst, I’d definitely include people like Deamons & Wizards (one of the worst side projects in the entire history of music), Edguy, Scanner... I also remember wasting a 60-minute Raks to tape the (really awful) album of some Iron Saviour, who were from a band I can’t remember the name of anymore. @everyone else: thanks a million for stopping by! :))

Hi Bisio!! How are you?? :)) Nice review, but I spontaneously had an observation/question while reading the part where you talk about Marlene and that "Dan wanted to stomp again and we were no longer in the mood." I mean: frankly, it doesn't seem to me that "Dal Fondo" was so much more stomped than the (pen)ultimate stuff from Marlene. Not only in terms of sound but also in terms of melodies, singing... maybe I'm wrong, though?! Bye!! :))

@Stoney: that's exactly what I wanted to say!! Imaginations represents both the peak and the ultimate limit of the genre. Beyond that limit lies the abyss filled with the steaming shit we all know. It’s the power metal at its highest potential. Beyond that is the cheesy mess. What you say about the many literary references in BG's lyrics is true. However, I really keep wondering why Kursch is now labeled as a great lyricist. The vast majority of his lyrics are impactful phrases, but often lack cohesive connections. I’ve read some of the books he was inspired by, only to find that the song lyrics were as related as Casu Marzu at snack time. The most glaring exceptions, in my opinion, are still in Imaginations, where you can find some very good lyrics like those of Born In A Mourning Hall or Agany Is The script.
