A rather anonymous and poor review, to tell the truth... This is one of the most hyped/exciting records of the period that I've had the chance to listen to. Just the song Master Heartache contains more anger and creative frenzy than 3/4 of today's mediocrity bands (just to make a fucked up comparison): two hundred thousand guitar fills, a singer straight out of a psychiatric ward, sounds that hurt... it's absolutely amazing.

@Sessi: oh my god, they Live doesn't seem like a masterpiece to me (even though I find it very funny too), but Ghosts of Mars is just unwatchable!! Is it really one of his masterpieces for you??

One of the longest reviews I've ever come across... I confess I only read half of it, but basically, I've never heard of any of the artists you mentioned!:DD I also think the length is due to the fact that you talked about a ton of performances. I give you a 5 for the mega hassle! :))

I also take this opportunity to say this: I just can't figure out the character Paul Banks. I can't tell if he's a smooth womanizer with cerulean eyes or just a clueless bum. I've been told he's with some mature but still attractive lady, though I can't remember which one, and in some videos he seems to pull off the rock star role well, while in others he really has that baby-faced look... who knows! Thank you so much, Gasta, for the clarifications. I'll get to listening and be back!! :))

Wow! I was expecting a ton of comments/insults towards poor Banche, but instead... nada... I have the album sitting in my HD for a few days now, but I just can’t find the inspiration. I’ve listened to the latest Interpol a little and it didn’t excite me... maybe that's what's holding me back. Or maybe it’s just that I don’t eat enough vegetables. Great review: I really like the way you write. It’s just a pity about the Track by track that I really don’t like... :)

Nes, just look it up in the blogs. Check out RockNRollaz, for example. Or, as usual, on soulseek (I haven't checked, but on soulseek there's practically everything in the realm of human music knowledge).

Absolutely true! The only "erotic archetype" I have witnessed is that of the hot friend, blessed with an equally hot mom. Everyone else (teacher, neighbor, baker, cleaning lady, traffic warden...) are just dreams that upon waking leave nothing but a painful swelling in my underwear... :((

Come on, the idea of the dirty nun is as old as the hills! :) Just last night on Italia 7 Gold, they aired "La monaca del peccato," an embarrassingly titillating film by Joe D'Amato featuring Eva Grimaldi. And didn’t Cradle of Filth already think of that?! Great review and nice mention.
