Art. 346 c.p.: "Whoever, falsely claiming credit with a public official, or with a public employee providing a public service, receives or causes to be given or promises to himself or others, money or another benefit, as the price for his own mediation towards the public official or employee"... It's more about looking for an eyebrow in a dinosaur's butt than splitting hairs!

But Terry told me it was a horror bomb! I was just waiting to get out of bed to go buy it... and now you tell me it's a fart!?!

"I advise you that if it is not true that you have served in the Carabinieri, your situation could become complicated because your behavior could be construed as an attempt to convince the users of this site that the Military of the Corps are necessarily politically aligned to the right, which is not necessarily true." But what the hell kind of crime would that be?!? And why should the "investigative authorities" investigate?!? And who are these investigative authorities?!?! The postal police?! :DDDDDD I have decided: comment of the week. I'm sorry for the other competitors, but this one is unbeatable!!! :DDD

I watched it again a few days ago, after I don't know how long. A great film indeed. A real torture for anyone trying to quit smoking... The review is very nice as well: Bjorky stops by to say hello every now and then. Bye!! :))

Another silly question (it's been a while since I read them and I don't remember some things...): but Bob, the armadillo not carrying leprosy, in which book does he appear?!?

Always about Billy Boy: "I wouldn't have fed him my shit even if I saw him starving to death." @Enbar: for me Rumble Tumble is just below Mucho Mojo and The Bears' Mambo, and just above Bad Chili and Outrageous Captains. Keep in mind though that I'm missing the first and the last of the series!

"Jim Bob is almost funnier than Hap." True. In that book, paradoxically, Hap and Leo are a bit sidelined (Leo due to force majeure). And let's be honest, the Mexican trip didn't exactly go well. Yet, in my opinion, there are some wonderful performances from the secondary characters: Brett and Jim Bob above all. And then the part where they end up in jail with Billy Boy has me in stitches. Definitely not the best, but I think it's among the funniest. Silly question: am I wrong or do all of Leo's boyfriends start doing "something" when they're nervous? Raoul irons, John makes tea...

@Enbar: dear, but did you know that, as far as I'm concerned, Bad Chili is the one I've liked the least?!? I don't know... maybe because it focuses a bit too much on the investigation. However, it must be said that it's in Bad Chili where two wonderful characters make their appearance: Jim Bob Luke and, above all, Brett, my absolute favorite. And how could I forget "Horse F***"?!?:DD

Great!!! As I've already said, this remains, in my opinion, the most "balanced" among those I've read in the Hap & Leonard series. It doesn't have the comic flair of Captains Outrageous, nor the constant tension of "The Mambo of Bears," but it's the "right middle ground" of all the other episodes. You're absolutely right: the identity of the culprit is guessed after 50 pages... who cares! :))

Very interesting chronicle. I read it with pleasure. Well done, memento. :)
