Let's put it this way: 1) if a woman agrees to marry an ugly mug like the one in the painting, she’s certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed; 2) after so many years of marriage with someone who has a portrait done while holding a pitchfork, I’d say a crying fit would come to anyone... So I lean towards both things: foolish + tears! :))

I, on the other hand, lean more towards a parodic reading. Especially when it comes to the expressions on their faces: they convey a sense of "rigidity at all costs, but without knowing exactly why," as if to say, "let's put on a show at least until this painter finishes our portrait, so then we can go back to our own business, since Adalgisa needs to be milked." She seems to have been holding in a fart for a long time. He has an excessive and ridiculous pride in holding the pitchfork... In short, the protagonists seem more foolish than "stern," hardened by the adversities of existence. But perhaps it’s just that I am a first-class ignoramus... :((

Very interesting page, which significantly increases my regret for my vast and desolate ignorance. I hope Hetzer responds!! :))

Uschi Obermaier from Amon Düül (I think in the early...). She always wins, yes: Ingrandisci questa immagine Then there was also Sasha from Hawkwind, but she was rougher... Uschi was the Gloria Guida of rock. Sasha was the Serena Grandi.

It's true, damn it. To quote a character from the nativity scene: "It's time to downsize this 'review fever' that has been sucking me in more and more lately, making me spend even 2, 3, sometimes 4 hours a day on DeBaser and neglecting my family, work, and child. An authentic madness!!". :-)

@Fosca: to be honest, I’ve seen her live a couple of times too, and all in all, I had a good time. Really: at first, I found her quite likeable and I believe that her Then Comes The Sun is a great pop-rock album. My (just to be clear) feeling, though, is that she's a bit at the mercy of her record label, particularly Matrona Caselli. The increasingly massive use of Italian also doesn’t convince me. For years, Elisa herself has claimed to feel much more comfortable composing in English. And now, the lead single is even in Italian. Moreover, it features the most annoying musical figure of the last 3,000 years, also from Sugar... for me, we're losing her. The aura was really talented, but where has she gone?!?

I didn’t mind her: at first, she always seemed a bit silly to me, someone who lived in her own world, and I found her likable. And she’s made at least 2-3 really decent albums. The other day, I caught her in an interview where she expressed her excitement about the duet with the guy from Negramaro: "I really felt the need for it, I couldn’t wait for it to happen... It was a natural thing, a common desire." Yeah. Right. A common desire from Caselli. And those poses of hers?! Bah... what a shame. The track by track of the review is devastating.
