@Geenoo: I confess I last saw it several years ago. So it’s possible that my judgment is based on memories “touched up” by the time that has passed. In general, I remember it as a film that relies heavily on some “mother” scenes (most famously, the tango scene, but also the one with the Ferrari, not to mention the final speech). While some seemed really well done to me (the tango scene), others just didn’t convince me at all. Especially the final speech struck me as being really unconvincing, lacking true pathos and, above all, a bit too melodramatic. And then there's Pacino's performance... I don't know. To say, I prefer him dirty and beaten in Serpico, psychopathic in Scarface... maybe my favorite performance is that of the clumsy robber in Dog Day Afternoon. Here, I don’t know, it doesn’t excite me. Brilliant, for sure, but it doesn’t thrill me.
