You know Lius, the real problem, in my opinion, is that the numbers they achieved can't be attributed ONLY to the tough guys. Fifteen years ago, voting for the League was something for retirees and uncouth types. Back then, if you said you were voting for the League among us young people, you'd immediately be called an idiot. And sure, the numbers were shocking, but they still allowed for discussions about a "local/regional phenomenon" and made it possible to view the League as something almost folkloric, picturesque. Today, the guy I pay my rent to (a respected lawyer in his 40s, originally from Brindisi) is a list representative for the League. The last time I worked as a poll worker, there were 20-30 year-olds (graduates, doctors, freelance professionals) with green ties roaming the polling stations. I believe the times of Borghezio yelling "We'll take our dogs to pee on your mosques" (quote) and the extreme tough-guy attitude have definitely given way to a sort of "League 2.0," much less rebellious and loud, but well integrated into institutional mechanisms, attracting large masses of voters by presenting itself no longer as a disruptive entity but as a party that understands the territory it will operate in and the needs of the population. The motto "dagàl al terùn" has been replaced with "federalist demand," and "Muslims and blacks" with "undocumented and irregulars." And it is precisely for this reason that, in my opinion, the phenomenon has ceased to be regional/local/folkloric. Again, I admit, I’m as ignorant as a shoe; my field is shrimp! :)

"They speak to the stomach of people with very low education, a very poor social understanding, and minimal interest in those who are different from them." From my experience, this is not entirely accurate. In this way, one leaves out the group of more or less established professionals who flaunt their Lega faith within a kind of neo-yuppism: more and more frequently, declaring oneself berlusconiano turns out to be a double-edged sword, while Lega faith is associated with a true "politics of doing" far removed from Boccaccesque scandals and heartwarming pre-election proclamations. Take, for example, Umbertone's statements following the fiasco of the electoral lists ("They are amateurs thrown to the wolves"): they do indeed speak to the stomach of the electorate, but not to that of the ignorant tavern-goers, rather to those who "work their asses off 12 hours a day." This is because, beyond the racist discourse (which there's much to discuss), the Lega has always addressed the only organ that truly interests a certain type of northern electorate: the wallet. Hence, the motto that was most popular at the beginning was "Roma ladrona, la Lega non perdona." Well, I think it’s better if I go back to dealing with shrimp... :))

The green age (which, alas, every day more tends towards a dull brown and dirty hue) does not allow me to know them. Beautiful page! :)

"of course no one ever gave a damn about them": just like what happens every day with those roughly 25 kg of fish that are sacrificed for just one kg of shrimp. Good review: I had never heard of them, but I think I’ll be glad to give them a listen.

Dear DeLorenzo, why, instead of talking about politics, don't you invest your impressive rhetoric in issues concerning the future of our planet?! I, for example, have recently discovered that for every kilogram of shrimp, up to 25 kg of fish are caught and then thrown back into the sea dead (the fish, not the sea). Not to mention the significant damage to the seabed and marine flora caused by trawl nets.
Baustelle I Mistici Dell'Occidente

I didn't listen to the album. I didn't read the review and I didn't read the comments. However, I saw Baustelle live three times: among the worst in the galaxy. The bands we used to have play at high school parties in exchange for a couple of cans of Prinz put them to shame: embarrassing sounds, a ton of mistakes, terrible off-key singing... Only Rachele I happened to hear singing decently. Another thing: I found out that for every kilo of shrimp, about 25 kg of fish are caught and thrown back into the sea dead. If, like me, you're about to go to lunch, think twice before ordering the shrimp sandwich with lettuce and pink sauce.

Yes, dear, I understood! In fact, it’s precisely Elisa that means "oath": I just wanted to show off my deep well of knowledge in numismatics, toponymy, or whatever the heck the science of knowing the meanings of names is called. Kisses! :))

Congratulations to Elysha for this excellent debut that showcases musical culture and quite an impressive command of the language. Speaking of this "command of the language": Elysha, team up with me!
