A very warm welcome back to you, Jack. Moreover, with a film that at the time was a bit of a revelation for me... I'm really very happy to have you around here again! :)

@donnie: dear, imagine a big, acid-infused, beautifully fuzzy guitar in the hands of a clumsy guitarist who for most of the time seems to have no idea where the hell to put his hands, improvising over a drum beat that goes "strapatapatum-cha! strapatapatatapatum-tum-cha! tu-cha! tu-cha!". For more than 40 minutes. It's not about old folks; it's about having some time to kill. :)))

but the movie is a load of crap!! they turned the whole thing into an action film with a lot of boom boom! no, that's not true... but a ton of details, a lot of gems, a lot of depth gets lost. Come on, you can find it super easily (by the way, in color edition...) for around ten euros or so even at the bookstore! get the comic book! because we all know you'll download the movie, you Bluebeard, you! :)

@Santalessio: dang it, I've already got that one! :)) If you're interested in The Risk of Gravitation, let me know and I'll megaupload it for you. By the way, I've been looking for "Space Medal" for quite a while, but I can't find it. They sell it on their Myspace for 12 dollarozzi... yeah... whatever...

@Fede: too kind... I bow in gratitude. Regarding the matter of "all well-known people in the industry," I tell you this: the heavy psych scene in Brooklyn is made up of about a million small bands (not all of them good, in my opinion). Let's say that in such a fragmented landscape, La Otracina stands out not only for the large quantity of productions but also for Kriney's flamboyance. P.S.: be careful because "the one with Christ" is strange stuff. Basically, it's an album of minimal music (or minimalist?!... who knows!) played with a guitar processed to sound like synths or something like that: take guitar patches, piece them together, layer them... personally, I don't mind the result at all (keep in mind that for me Gottshing is better than the life master Don Nascimiento when it comes to guitar playing), but it's still something a bit particular. A different story for Ash Ra Tempel: definitely digestible... as long as you like long instrumental breaths, long cosmic drifts, etc., etc. In any case, nothing too out there. Let's say the worst that can happen with them is a nice unexpected nap! :)

Ah, if you liked this and don't already know it, try "Pilzmarmelade" by the Titans from... mmm... I believe 2008 or so, with the caveat that it requires a little extra chewing. Same story: if you enjoy the mongoose but can't find the right bag, ring up Bartle-Giusy and everything will be given to you. Good afternoon, everyone!

I want it! I want it! but the lingo doesn't work!!! and now I'm as curious as a monkey with a red bottom. At least tell me what it is!!! P.S.: if you're interested in other records from La Otracina, but you can't find them, let me know because your Bartolo has sucked through the whole network like a vacuum cleaner...

@weseven: mmm... to be honest, Earthless really has ultrapsychadelicity as their trademark, so I don't think they're quite the right fit for you. Let's put it this way: if you really want to give them a listen, avoid the Live@Roadburn like a Foletto sales rep and try tasting the first one, Sonic Prayer from 2005.

This was the first volume by Moore that I read a lifetime and a half ago. It was love at first read for the way the Orwellian starting point is infused with the most varied historical, musical, and literary elements... really a lot of stuff.
