@Star: no way, of course not! Then you talk to someone who has reviewed Onslaught and Ani Di Franco... just think if I care about a nipple. Come on, we all love you here!! :)

Do you want to listen to the much gnugna?! I want to, I want to... Well done Jackie, you had me convinced by about the second line. Not only did I take note of this, not only did I add it to my shopping list, but I’ve already got it! I’m going to listen to it carefully this afternoon during the battle of Tornavento.

Of course, there are plenty of groups that shoot garbage... and it’s our duty to mock them as long as there are people leaving comments like those reported by Schizoid Man, I mean, until the extinction of the human race at the hands of an alien race of exuberant sodomites. Slayer, just to give an example, is my all-time favorite band, but it’s also true that if you take the words evil + satan + blood out of any of their albums, you end up with an instrumental record or something similar. So it’s fair to poke fun at them. You yourself have mentioned metal bands that manage to have non-trivial lyrics. So it can be done. Therefore, it must be done. This is to say: we shouldn’t turn a blind eye to nursery rhyme lyrics just because others do it too; we should mock them all, with renewed vigor, without any scruples or reverential fear! :)

It's true, Starbly, I thought you had completely renounced your paua medal past. I guess seeing you review pretty much the entire discography of Elton John had misled me... well, at this point: STAY POWER BUT ALSO STAY BLAZER!!!

Oh my goodness... it’s clear that your generation had all the easy access to the zagara material you wanted with just a click. If you had only had to sweat for an episode of Colpo Grosso in the mid-'80s, waiting for everyone to be in bed and, with the volume turned down low for fear someone might hear, waiting for Umberto Smaila to stop with his nonsense and let the ladies take the stage, you wouldn’t have asked me this question. I was clearly referring to classy Italian-American porn, like the work of Maestro Joe D’Amato with “Novelle liceziose di vergini vogliose” or “La rivolta delle gladiatrici,” both from '73. Forget about Chin Chun Cheng and the gang.

In the last couple of days, I took a little tour of their space. Well... frankly, I wasn't too impressed. I'm not an expert in the genre, but I still caught a very strong sense of "already heard it before." The structures of the tracks seemed far from original and, honestly, quite predictable in the now-classic alternation of "empty" and "full." I repeat, I'm definitely not an expert in the post genre and, above all, I've only given it more than a superficial listen, but it really seems to me that a genre that was theoretically supposed to disregard the norms of traditional rock has created its own standards that most bands have settled into. Is it nonsense? Almost definitely. Otherwise, it wouldn't have crossed my mind. It's not entirely related, but I'll ask you anyway: do you like 5ive? I would really love to read your review on Hesperus... :)

But you know how bullshit it is to spend 15 years singing about dragons, knights, swords, battles, and various fantasy junk?!? If I were them, I’d do a concept on '70s porn, just to mix things up a bit...

Every now and then I wonder what the (classical) musicians involved in this kind of projects must be thinking... I bet some "this one’s lost their mind" directed at the composer comes to mind. Well done, as usual, Giovanni! :)

And I, like a fool, at times lost myself in the whole mess... well done, cold.
