Yoko Kanno Cowboy Bebop O.S.T. 1
Voto:
The anime suffers from a certain insubstantiality in its screenplay during the first half, but in the second part, it becomes - in my opinion - an excellent piece of work. The ending, then, I believe, is one of the saddest I've ever seen... stuff that makes "Grave of the Fireflies" look like a Gino Bramieri joke. The soundtrack is excellent, but, in fact, there are a few filler moments. That's one point off. And then there's no The Real Folk Blues, which I find overly sentimental regardless of the context. That's another point off. Yoko Kanno is really talented. And that's one point added.

I know the single is crap, but I've read that the album is the bomb. Actually, "è una bomba."

GodDragon, I was wrong! I should have given a 3 to the review!

On the other review for this album, I left a 15-line comment that I don't think is worth repeating. I was hoping some little medal-collector from the forum would come and criticize me, but nothing happened. The medals today aren’t epic at all… I can see why they like these albums.

Strange that nobody has mentioned the blasphemy scene yet. Well, for You and for us, but also for him and for her, anticlerically Yours, Il_Bartle:

@Teenage: that was a comment left in the heat of excitement for having downloaded it in record time: over 100 megabytes in just over 3 minutes. Tell me if that's not worthy of "Album of the Year." ;)

I swear I would have never imagined that the first review of this album would be yours, green! :)) In any case: I listened to it a couple of times over the past few days... I don't know: it's certainly a mediocre album, but I don't completely agree with everything you say. It’s undeniable that there’s a tendency to unjustifiably stretch things out, but I confess that I found a few good bits too. Starblind, personally, I like. Mother of mercy isn’t too bad. On the other hand, I found El Dorado, Isle of Avalon, and a couple of others I can't remember the titles of to be really terrible. I don’t like the fact that Dickison always strains his voice as if someone were squeezing a hemorrhoid with a nutcracker, but I happened to hear some very nice solos (which is the bare minimum, but still...). I think they’re just really tired of making heavy metal...

@Mirror: oh my gosh, what a struggle... I mean, I was talking about people I KNOW. My friends. Seriously, in 5 lines of comment, I spent 2 saying that I was only talking about MY personal experience, MY acquaintances, that I wasn't making any generalizations, that I didn't want to offend anyone, etc. Let's be clear: either you're one of those guys I meet on Friday nights who tease me because I spend too much money on CDs, or I really don't see how on earth I could have offended you. I mean, I get that it's seven in the evening on Ferragosto, but it doesn't seem to me that I've expressed a particularly complex concept...

Dear Mirror of my balls, let me get this straight. I'm busting my ass to write that I don't want to offend anyone, etc., etc., etc. I say nothing about the review. I say nothing about the concert. I say nothing about you. You show up and call me a boor and nitpick what I listen to. It seems you need: 1) a music education course; 2) a basic education course.
