Well... as far as I'm concerned, it's not a matter of money or anything else. It's just that he hasn't been able to recreate the magic and balance of Oceano Mare. I liked Seta and Senza sangue, but they're objectively too short for a comparison with his other novels. I've already shared my thoughts on City. "Questa storia" felt like it was going nowhere from the first to the last page. I didn't understand the meaning or purpose of "Omero, Iliade." It seems evident that there's a widespread snobbishness against him, but I think it can also be said just as calmly that the quality of his works has declined over time. But then why am I even talking when I only read Lansdale now?!? I’m going back to shooting armadillos.

They (uhm... more or less) fucked up the name of the band for me. I mean, five thousand years ago I wanted to name the group I was playing in that way. When I proposed it, the other band members didn't say anything, but they stared into my eyes for a handful of long, endless moments. About the time it takes for an eternal and infinite entity to slightly close its eyelids... and then they rudely shat on my head.

You have a writing style that I really like on one hand, especially for the rhythm, but on the other hand feels a bit excessive and redundant. The review is a bit too lengthy and, above all, it seems overly enthusiastic for a book that – as far as I’m concerned – marks the beginning of the end for this author. It’s a book that has some successful inventions, but suffers even more from certain passages of pure literary onanism, pages and pages of forced and insistent search for a "sublime" that never quite arrives. In the end, the best parts are those of the western. Ah! And I think there was already one for this book.
