Aldous Huxley Brave New World

Without a doubt a great album, especially for Dickinson's return after the unfortunate Bayley interlude. However, Iron Maiden have done better.

Noticed some time ago for the artwork (the guy's style is unmistakable!): I promised myself I would give it a listen, but then nothing came of it. To be honest, from how you describe it, I don't think I'm very interested. But you’re good at talking about it.

But in fact, I realize that the problem is mine! On the website, there are two reviews, both extremely positive. There’s a unanimous 5 for the work that is rarely seen. I remember this book being a real cult during my adolescence... I repeat: the problem is definitely mine! I probably expected something different, or maybe I had my expectations too high. The fact remains that it took me almost two weeks to read it and it was a struggle: in the end, I had to put it next to the Topolino in the bathroom to force myself to finish it. Let's do a test: tell me what you think is the funniest passage in the book, I'll go read it again and then I'll let you know.

Just finished reading: it was a struggle... I found it incredibly boring! For goodness' sake, there are a couple of funny moments and situations, but for the rest, it was an intergalactic disappointment. What a shame.

And in any case, I get chills just thinking about the 3/4 books that The Punisher might have actively imagined (probably with his pants down, sitting on the toilet) while looking at the girl in panties and bra on the cover...

I confess that I don't really appreciate (actually, I would say not even a little) minute-by-minute reviews, but I like your writing style, and some of the imagery seemed effective to me. And, santamargherita, I appreciate that new albums are being discussed! The album was mentioned a few days ago in the related news: from what I remember, it's beautiful. Very evocative. Final judgment postponed until after more proper listens.

I've listened to it enough and I have to say I don't like it much. There are some good things: the fast-paced Anidride Carbonica, Quando tornerai dall'estero, and a couple of others whose titles I don't remember. The rest... well, musically, there haven't been any great revolutions compared to the previous one, but who cares. As for the lyrics, I wouldn't know. There are some really successful images, or at least ones I really like, but too often the feeling is that of a general supercazzola of unlikely combinations that maybe want to mean everything, but to me - ignorant monkey - say very little. I recognize that Brondi has a sort of "poetics," it's just that already by the second album it seems a bit worn out, a bit self-recycling, I don't know.
