I guess it should go a bit better! :) And anyway, great review. You did very well, they seem very interesting.

I have to see Josi's house sooner or later. Just the fact that Blechtravone finds every excuse to go back there gives it a rather sordid and sinful aura that both unnerves and intrigues me. Now I imagine it as a branch of Villa Certosa where, however, the trains run to the rhythm of GYBE: basically, Brazilian New Year's Eve in emo version. Anyway: Mogwai on March 10 at Alkatrazzo. Until 12 hours ago, I would have said tickets weren't necessary, but since even the Latte and its derivatives are now sold out, maybe if we decide to go, we should move quickly (€22 + presale. Blech, please take care of it, and then we’ll sort it out). Someone alert the host, before he finds himself with 10 desperate souls clinging to the intercom! @Ole: hey there, always great to see you around these parts. If we decide to organize the nice caravan to Padua, don’t worry: I bet our friend with the tuft will still want to sleep at Josi's place.

Christ! The last time I couldn't go to a concert at Alkaseltzer because it was sold out was for Sonic Youth. What the hell is going on?!? At this point, I'm worried for the pseudo Kyuss: if our local trio sells out Alkantara, there will even be security checking your backpack and making you take the caps off plastic bottles at the Live in Trezzo for the pseudo Kyuss. In short, just like at real concerts!

Damn, you are destined to rewrite the very concept of whore. Compared to you, Capezzone is a man of integrity and strong principles. Since when have you been listening to the Verzena?!? They would be the first under-70 group you listen to...

@Azzoluccio: aahhh! the Arbouretum concert... if I remember correctly, that night an unexpected issue popped up and I ended up leaving the office around 9:00 PM. Now that I’ve arrived at Magnolia, they were out of tickets (?!?!?!?!?!?!?!). I also remember trying to drown my sorrow with a lethal mix of McDrive food and Cuba Libre, but it was in vain. In fact, heading to Unwound (which I think would be quite a hassle...) would be a reasonable pain, but if we organize it and that slut Blechtrombettiere comes too, I'm in! Moreover, it would be the perfect opportunity to test the cough that keeps my lungs on! ;) P.S.: that aforementioned slut was telling me about Mogwai... for them, I’d say yes right away, without a second thought. These days, Verdena are at Alcatraz too: I think I’ll go see them and bring your regards to Roberta.

The story of the seventies stoner feels a bit like bullshit to me. Especially since - as far as I know - the term stoner associated with music is first used by Stonerwall as the title of their 1974 album. I'm sorry, but Blue Oyster Cult and Zeppa have very little to do with stoner. Up here on deb, I don't remember any pages where the mentioned groups defined themselves as "stoner." I'd love to read some of those forums that are being talked about...

The review has a couple of grammatical slips (that "the album, which would come out of any contemporary band" would make poor Alia do a triple backflip of shock! :), but it deserves credit for talking about a semi-obscure band or something like that. However, I don't quite agree with the content and, especially, the judgment about the band: acknowledging that Death or Glory remains their best work, it seems evident to me that we are talking about a band that, beyond the mystical aura of a cult group (which I have serious doubts about...), certainly didn't have what it takes to compete with the big names. Technically, we are in the realm of mediocrity. Compositional-wise, while I am the first to acknowledge that they have done some quite respectable things, it doesn't seem to me that we are faced with an exceptional discography. One can credit them for having anticipated the times, despite the difficulties of a musical scene (at the time) that was certainly not fertile. But apart from that, I sincerely feel that terms like "masterpiece," "jewel," and the like are really exaggerated.

Very clear analysis, I liked it. I too would have preferred a less didactic ending, but it’s just 4 lines so who cares. The album, quite simply, I have no desire/interest/curiosity to listen to it... it's the first time this happens with Marlene and it saddens me. But life goes on even without us, who are now far away. From all those feelings that united us. From all those little emotions that were enough. From all those situations that never come back. Because over time everything changes, you know, and we change too.

When I read you talking about Polly, I get all worked up and I like you even more. I remember an old review-open letter of yours, where you told her something like: "Come with me, Polly, I'll take you to eat fish, we'll get drunk on white wine and go see - I can't remember who anymore." By the way, it's precisely this nerdy adolescent crush of yours that convinced me to listen to her... Good job, my dear, you're my favorite Milf.

And I want to emphasize that the reference to carbonara was not at all accidental, as evidenced by this heated discussion, dating back a few years now: Nobody Else - Take That - Recensione di KrYsTaL
