Six Organs Of Admittance Asleep On The Floodpain

This album came out at a really bad time for me. In the end, I only listened to it distractedly: it didn't particularly strike me and I haven't felt the urge to revisit it as (it seems to me) it deserved. I will listen to it again... soon. I agree with Mastro Psycho on Chasney's absolute caliber.

Come on, Poppy, we're just joking! By the way, I really appreciated several of your contributions: it's clear you know a lot about cinema (this page doesn't count), your reviews are excellent, your suggestions are not trivial, you post a ton of interesting links (Fanboys is already downloading!!) and the "throwing popcorn" idea is a really nice touch. For me, it's a fairly well-built and successful fake. And anyway, it's true that I didn't spill anything! :))

I had promised myself to read this newly published review, but then I got sidetracked doing some silly stuff—I don’t even remember on which page—and it slipped my mind. I have to thank Geo (who gets my personal welcome back...) for reminding me about this review with their comment. :) Great recommendation: given the outline of the work, I was afraid it would be something incredibly tedious, an encyclopedic megaton with thousands of pages analyzing Aramaic scrolls found in some cave in Mesopotamia... But from what I gather, it seems to be enjoyable little books. Great recommendation.

By the way, I had a fake for the okulistiche too... Too bad I don't have time anymore... :(

To tell the truth, he had already made a fool of himself before - I swear I can't remember where and in which discussion - but the interlocutor was one of the super tordi and started arguing with both of his usernames! :D I caught him practically right away: so much so that in his first review (really very good) I gave him a 5, writing something like "when it’s needed, it’s needed" or something like that. It was his reviews that made me doubt because they were quite lengthy, while in the musical ones he’s generally stingy, but when he started copy-pasting snippets of other people's comments nonstop, I had no more doubts! :D Note how gracious I was not to reveal it to anyone: in terms of good manners, I can make even Cristina Parodi eat shit.

However S4doll, while I share your position, I must break a lance in favor of Nes: to catch one of his fakes, it’s enough to check if the comments are afflicted with severe dysgraphia and if they start, in 84% of cases, with a copy-paste of another user’s comment to which he wants to reply... The finesse lies in using quotation marks with the main nickname and parentheses for the fake! :D

I don't know the album. Better: I have absolutely no memory of it. Your review intrigues me a lot, but the comments that precede it raise some doubts. I remember that on these very pages there was quite an intense discussion about the suicide of Nodtveidt (if I recall correctly, it was actually regarding a review of this album). The review is not bad: it's a bit lengthy, and some passages are not very clear... anyway, more than sufficient.

@JDV: it’s a very diverse scene, with a ton of groups, almost all concentrated in the San Francisco Bay area. I’d suggest starting with the heavyweight Comets on Fire (Avatar and/or Blue Cathedral are the most recommended albums), but I'm not very familiar with your tastes and I wouldn't want them to sound too noisy and chaotic for you. Try Ekranoplan by Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound: excellent copycats of the Comets, but a bit less aggressive and more country/folky. If you hang out or have hung out in the heavy scene or are more accustomed to heavier sounds, give the self-titled album by Mammatus a shot. If you’re looking for shameless late sixties stuff, try Embrace by Sleepy Sun. If you want endless instrumental digressions and a journey vibe, dive into Earthless (their live album at Roadburn remains their best production). If you want a mishmash of everything, try the LP by Naam (which didn’t blow me away precisely because it’s too "textbook heavy psych"). In general, keep an eye on Tee Pee Records and Holy Mountain Records (the latter has heavier and more "post" stuff). If you find that you enjoy the music, give me a shout because I have a few terabytes of music to share with you! :))

Well... the rock of the last decade honestly doesn't disgust me that much. I think of bands like Oneida, Liars, Swans, certain post-rock groups still trying to amaze, California's neo-heavy psychedelia and New York's... Or maybe we’re not talking about the same rock, I don't know.

"Fibra as a rapper beats Neffa 10 to 1." It's a bit like saying that Gigi Finizio beats Claudio Lolli as a singer-songwriter...
