I like this thing that they’re not putting out a damn thing anymore. Of course, I’d be curious to listen to a new album of theirs, but I like to think that maybe (read: maybe. Repeat: maybe. Let’s say it again: maybe), they’re just fed up with doing what they’ve been doing (as should happen to any good musician after X years of playing a genre) and now they want to do their own thing. Maybe Jones is tired of playing and wants to focus on sculpting and directing. Maybe May-nerd is tired of writing lyrics with accents falling to the rhythm of a Fibonacci series and prefers to stomp grapes with his filthy feet. Their proposal, whether we like it or not, requires a monstrous level of inspiration; otherwise, they’ll be spouting nonsense. Don’t they have inspiration? No motivations? Do they prefer to dedicate themselves to other things? If that’s the case, maximum respect. I mean, I’m 32: who’s got time for rock?!?

It seems to me that the article in question creates a lot of confusion, especially in the last part. First it says: "At the moment, the psychedelic route seems to be the only viable one." Right after: "Danny Carey spoke about a record made up of shorter pieces that takes up (...) the song structure (...). In that case, it would be a sensible move" + he defines albums with suites as lame. Then again, "It takes a double LP to leave everyone satisfied for quite a while." (But what does that even mean?!?! :DD). And finally: "Otherwise, let there be revolution! Let them find a new form." It throws into the mix Arctic Monkeys, Metallica, Dream Theater, grunge, people who at 30 no longer have time for rock... Even he doesn’t know what he wants.
