Deep Purple Perfect Strangers

Well, to say that Blackmore lacks technique is utterly wrong! Cliff, how could you say that after doing so well? Just listen to his medieval works; his technique in the neoclassical genre rivals that of modern shredders... He has a strong and powerful touch; sure, he may not be "modern" in the sense of sweep, tapping, two-hand technique, etc., but come on, there are millions of guitarists who would love to have his control over the instrument! Anyway, Deep Purple is legendary! I saw them in concert this summer; I went almost solely to see Steve Morse, and I had a great time among all the nostalgic '70s fans! In reality, even though I didn't experience those years firsthand, I'm nostalgic for that era too.
Litfiba Desaparecido

A record composed of wonderfully banal songs but unfortunately mortified by a flat sound devoid of any engaging quality. In the lyrics (not yet as refined as in 17 re - stunning! - or Litfiba Tre), Pelù's "apostolic" and "pontificating" tendency is already apparent, never reluctant to embrace a (today at least false, given what he sings...) logic of conspiracy and the coercion of people's ideas. The early concerts were stunning, the buzz of the Fender from a fumbling guitarist, that Ghigo who now seems even more laughable than back then, Pelù's trembling and hoarse voice, the bass of Moroccolo later taken over by C.S.I. All magically wrapped in a pungently rural atmosphere. Fantastic moments of Italian folk music, scivinistic and pie illusions of possessing a smidgen of peninsular rock spirit...

The Art of Three - Billy Cobham, Kenny Barron, Ron Carter Live In Japan 2003

I recently bought this album on Hal's suggestion... well, what can I say: simply amazing! It reaches heights that take your breath away. It contains micro-passages that are purely technical, where the arrangement matters little (if at all) and only the "art of arranging," or rather "improvising," counts, of which every word spent on description would be vainly wasted.

ok, I won’t comment on the statements of the anonymous, it would ruin St. Sylvester for me. Hal, as P. McCartney would say: "let IT be"... Alright, now I’m going back to listening to my jazz, after all the "IT" in question shouldn’t bring about any more worries...

One of the major issues regarding Frank Zappa is that his albums are sold at full price, indeed at the highest price! I mean, I've never seen a Zappa record among the discounted ones (that is, among my favorites :D)...

It's that these three are more "listenably" without having to do acoustic-auditory acrobatics... The first two... fear...
