David Lynch is a wild, visionary genius with a crazy mind: in other words, a GENIUS! I don’t know the album at all, but I do know "The Elephant Man," "Eraserhead," "Dune," "Lost Highway," "Mulholland Drive," and of course both the Twin Peaks series and the (wonderful) movie "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me." I’ve never seen Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, and The Straight Story. Nevertheless, I can get an idea of the music on the album even without having ever listened to it, because the references to the artists you mentioned are quite telling, and I have "Lost Highway" on DVD...

ah-a, I checked, you are right, it’s written without a t.

because I was thrilled reading the review and wanted to prove it. Even in Italian, different synonyms can be aligned as a formula to increase the emphasis, right?

Cool! I like this review! Raw, crude, severe, truthful, rough, essential and above anything else terribly directed at the record company! My regards to your writing!

Dear Condor, Rivo wrote: "...the comparison with the Beatles seems bold to me..." Beyond the differences of opinion on the quality of Ok Computer, I can only align myself with this statement. I understand but do not share that for the most die-hard fans of Radiohead, their favorites can be likened to the gods of the musical Olympus I mentioned earlier. But I repeat, I have judged Ok Computer, which deserves to be included in a theoretical music library of history, alongside Tommy by The Who, Ziggy Stardust by Bowie, Filles de Kilimanjaro by Davis, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis. But I cannot equate (at least not for now!) the artistic abilities of a genius like Bowie, who has not one but seven or eight albums in that theoretical library over his nearly forty-year career, or of an icon like Lou Reed, who wrote at least five works both solo and with the Velvet to be included in that hypothetical collection, with a band that has the merit of producing intriguing things but still absolutely does not have the merits to be likened to the Thin White Duke or the genius of the little black one who wrote the first jazz-rock album (Miles Davis with Bitches Brew, or the astounding and visionary talent of the one who recorded the first double LP in rock history (Zappa with Freak Out). Nor can they be compared with the Beatles, as everything they recorded rightfully belongs in that collection. Condor, I recommend you listen to Tommy by The Who, locked in your room and by the light of a single candle (from the film "Almost Famous"): it will open your eyes, and you will see music in a different way.

"...let's hope it's worthy of your expectations!" ...putting it like that makes me blush! :o)

I AM NOT A RADIOHEAD FAN! I really love OK Computer (it should appeal to everyone with a sound mind!!!) I might be considered a FANatic of people at a "rather" higher level than Radiohead (Bowie, Beatles, Genesis, King Crimson, Talking Heads, Brian Eno, The Who, Miles Davis, "Train" Coltrane, Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Weather Report just to name a few) but that album deserves to be placed in the musical Olympus. I doubt Radiohead will ever replicate that again (I hope so, you know how delightful another OK COMPUTER would be?) and it pisses me off that you say I’m a fan of theirs: but read the comments! I’m trying to stick to the general discussion which seems to be: "is OK Computer good or not?" and not the other way around "are Radiohead good?". If you want to judge the artist find yourself a site that talks about artists, I believe I've understood that we are talking about albums here! Ipse dixit Mr_Iko: go screw yourselves for a moment!

I like OK Computer and a little bit also Kid A. The other Radiohead albums DO NOT INTEREST ME: does it seem fair to say I like Radiohead when I enjoy one and a half albums out of five? When I heard Showbiz, I really liked that explosive energy expressed under a slightly too catchy melody. But with OOS (to call it how you do), I have to retract the opinion I had of them, perhaps due to, I repeat, the production: IT'S AN INCOMPLETE ALBUM, with solutions sometimes thrown together just to finish the work quickly. There's no reason to get angry: by definition, I judge the work that is composed and performed, not the band. I couldn't care less if Bowie is a jerk if he makes music from heaven. Hence: I'm not against Muse but against the album Origin of Symmetry, which is filthy. It was produced quickly to ride the wave of success. It’s a shame to think that if they had had enough time, they could have repeated the compositional goodness of Showbiz. I have not seen them live (only live on TV), so I don’t judge them for their live performances. P.S. I'm glad to know who I'm discussing with: you cowards who don't sign your names, are you afraid of confrontation? You make me laugh... I've decided not to respond anymore to cowards who don’t have the guts to sign their names. Coimbra!

Muse? very good Showbiz, very ugly Origin of Symmetry! Too much rush in releasing it, they slap you in the face with "Plug in Baby" and you think the whole album has that punch (ATTENZIONE: I SAID THAT PUNCH AND NOT THAT POWER, otherwise I get misunderstood as often happens), instead... a slightly dirty little disc!
