This album pairs with "Viewphoria," a DVD documenting various live appearances by the pumpkins.
TV appearances ("Disarm" - Live on English TV, "Geek USA" - Live on German TV) and some real live excerpts ("Soma Live in London," "Today Live in Chicago," "Mayonaise Live everywhere").
So, live sound documents from the first two albums, which, despite the immense studio work, clearly demonstrate the band's inability to perform live. In all the songs, Corgan’s nasal and whining voice dominates, bordering on irritating, and even the musical part often sounds imprecise and confused. The acoustic ("Mayonaise") is flat and boring: enough unplugged!!!
In short: yet another "flogging a dead horse".
"Legendary" songs like "Mayonaise" and "Today" are stripped of all their charm and energy. The various bootlegs you can find at flea markets are much more beautiful, really.
The first version of "Earphoria" came out around 1994, but it was only meant for friends and journalists, now it's accessible to everyone, but who wants it???
