actually I had written "... Elio e le storie (too p) tense..." intending the possible reading as "too heavy", but you deleted it... sigh!

The guy who wrote that this album will be the White Album of 2000 hasn’t understood a thing!!!! There will never be any work (referring to an artistic work of ABSOLUTE value, not relative) that can equal (better to say come close to) the magnum opus of the Beatles. Dear NickDrake, try to be a little less of a fan and a bit more objective when you express judgments: you risk stating fictitious and debatable truths. There will never be another White Album, just as there will never be another Tommy or Mahler's Symphony No. 2 (Resurrection) and, unfortunately, there will never be another Ziggy Stardust... the reason is simple: look out the window and tell me if the landscape you see is the same as that seen by Bowie or Townshend or Gustavo... Tell me if the vibrations you feel in the air are the same as those of Lennon-McCartney... There will be other gems, but they are not comparable to the Double White. I Said.

And anyway (a very personal judgment) dear Cleo, Radiohead are still veeeery far from the innovation and artistic greatness of Talking Heads. I said. Don't take it the wrong way... Only in twenty years will we be able to assess if RH are comparable to TH...

You know Cleo, I think Radiohead will do like U2: after being the "leading" band for a while, they will radically change their style, just like U2 did with Achtung Baby and Zooropa, where they used electronics much more extensively, which had been nearly discarded before, and they rose again after a little slump (everyone would have slumped after a masterpiece like The Joshua Tree). Radiohead peaked with Ok Computer and Kid A, they kind of "missed" (in my opinion) Amnesiac, they will have to fall lower and lower until it triggers the spring that will make them Rise Resplendent like never before. I guess.

It's difficult to add anything meaningful to your comments: you have already explored the album to its farthest reaches. There are those who, having crossed the horizon, found a desolate landscape, while others discovered fragrant and promising orchards, some saw ice, and others the stormy sea. I saw a body of water reflecting the world, but the image is distorted by waves of varying frequencies. There is someone throwing small stones into the water to confuse the reflection of the world, to counterfeit it, to alter it unnaturally. There's the music of Radiohead, which is not pure like the crystalline water I see. The mud and sand disturbed by the rhythmic throws are erasing every reflection. The murky rises to the surface and breaks the gaze. Ok, there aren't computer but don't kid As...
