I have 5 CDs of them and the opportunity to get their entire discography, since most of their records are sold for around €5.50 on Play.com. However, they've never fully convinced me, although I acknowledge that Demons and Wizards is a masterpiece like few others... Well, it might be that I've been leaning towards other listens lately, but I find them too outdated, aged poorly...

I can't understand this aversion to this record: it may not be a masterpiece, but it turns out to be a more than decent album. Perhaps the "split" between the two line-ups is obvious, but to only give it a little point seems excessive to me.

Given the enthusiasm, I would have expected a higher score. Nonetheless, it's a fantastic album, a classic of the genre, one of the few power metal records that truly made history.

I am well aware that Lewis had huge success in America and was practically unknown here in Italy, but the list of American artists whose music didn't sell much in Italy would be very long. This review started with the premise of discussing the usefulness of compilations and how, in some cases, while respecting the work of the artist, it was inevitable to buy only a "best of" and then overlook the entire discography. It's not possible to have everything from everyone, and for Lewis, I made sure to get what I think is a decent product, a good reflection of what the artist was and still is. That said, his career was extensive and important, that's for sure.

If that '94 is your birth year, certain childish behaviors and exaltations are fully justified, and that's why I won't vote for you. Regarding this album, I felt something isolated and, honestly, I didn't find it bad; there's a lot of self-referencing and too much verbosity, but all in all, it's a return to sounds more in line with their glorious past, without bringing up comparisons with the band's classics.
