Mark Knopfler And Emmylou Harris Real Live Roadrunning (Cd+Dvd)

Honestly, I didn't think that following the four words spent on this album there would be so many interventions, so I take full responsibility for filling in the lines below. RLR is definitely a "low-commercial" product, meaning it’s not exactly aimed at the more mainstream music-consuming population. However, I also have to say that it’s still a product of excellent quality, and to label it as boring and trivial seems a bit excessive. And then, considering the arrangements as "from a little Polish dance hall in the suburbs" (even without racking my brain too much, there would have been thousands of more appropriate phrases to describe something that one doesn’t appreciate) I think it's rather excessive. Ehy the Punisher, are you sure you didn't study music by attending some "apprentice plumber substitute course"? Maybe it would be good to understand what an "arrangement of a piece of music" really is before speaking. As for the "trite" material, well that’s just a "baggianata" (with a capital B), since apart from "Romeo And Juliet" and "So Far Away," none of the other tracks appear on any other live albums.

Honestly, I didn't think that following the four words spent on this album there would be so many interventions, so I take full responsibility for filling in the lines below. RLR is certainly a "non-commercial" product, meaning it is not aimed at the popular masses who are the biggest consumers of music. However, I must also say that it is still a product of excellent quality, and to call it boring and trivial seems a bit excessive to me. Moreover, to consider the arrangements as ā€œfrom a Polish dance hall in the suburbsā€ (without stretching the brain too much, there would have been thousands of more appropriate phrases to define something that one does not like) seems quite exaggerated to me. Ehy the Punisher, did you study music by attending some "apprentice plumber substitute course";-)? Perhaps it would be good to understand what exactly a ā€œmusical arrangement of a pieceā€ is before speaking. As for the ā€œworn-outā€ material, such a definition is a real "nonsense", since apart from ā€œRomeo And Julietā€ and ā€œSo Far Awayā€, none of the other tracks appear on other live albums. My suspicion is that regarding this package dear The Punisher, you expressed two words by reading here and there from various amazon.com and cduniverse.com by glancing at the titles present on the two supports and giving a rather rushed opinion, or at least justified by a disgust for Mark Knopfler’s music, which may also be understandable, just like the fact that you have a ā€œmeager folder of mp3sā€ dedicated to RLR, having never had the chance to handle the original. To conclude, and in FULL HARMONY? with what I wrote above (since I don't want to turn this page into a "heated exchange of opinions between two"), perhaps it would be better to listen to an album multiple times before writing something about it. Well, congratulations on this (presumed?) ability to understand a product deeply after a simple listen. And what's with that General attitude addressing the troops: ā€œNothing... we’re not thereā€ā€¦ I think you're taking yourself a bit too seriously... see you soon, perhaps on March 9;-). Quite a different caliber is the remarkable opinion of Pier Paolo Farina and a greeting to my friend Hal…
Dire Straits "On The Night"

A record that, as you say, is engaging and impeccably designed, I would say, but perhaps not appreciated enough, I believe because it was released at the end of Dire Straits' career. All the historic tracks (at least those from the last productions) are there. If they had needed to include "Tunnel Of Love" and "Telegraph Road" and "Sultans Of Swing", an additional CD would have been required. If you also want the availability on CD of the three tracks that you find additionally on the DVD, just look for "Encores," which was released shortly before "On The Night."

Finally a good review after glancing through that "inconclusive collection" just read on Appetite for Destruction.
Great album that, unfortunately, at the time of its release, wasn't really well received, but still encouraged me to continue enjoying a good dose of rock in various forms.... All In The Name Of..., Happy Listening!!!

...and here we go, the sports bar of music continues. Before using terms like load-bearing structure, death 'n roll, power, street, references to the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin & Aerosmith...but please, when writing something that others will read, let's try to share our own impressions (perhaps new ones) and not "recycle" terms and comparisons that have been overused for the last 20 years. To then define oneself as a "nobody" and express oneself like a "somebody" really says a lot about the intention to say something objectively neutral about a band that "like it or not" has released an album that is still part of the history of rock...and that hasn’t been purchased only by a bunch of idiots (nice statement). It makes me wonder if someone here perhaps needs to "maybe" open their mind to other musical genres and not always stick to the same sounds that unfortunately belong to the same family, which certainly ensures a continuous repetition of the same terms for those who write.......I’ll stop here, enjoy the listening!!

@ Matt7: THANK YOU!! And if you feel like it, come over to my area (Dire Straits, The Police, Blackmore's Night and Led Zeppelin...so far). Hearing something different often helps...Think about it, it happened to me with Cradle Of Filth...bye

This time, the number of attendees confirmed that a good portion of DeBaser's visitors listens to somewhat more demanding genres, perhaps not immediately accessible but still of great value. By describing "Beyond The Sunset" (beautiful!) as a piece that could be enjoyed in a music box, I did not mean to diminish its worth; on the contrary, if you knew how many lovely tunes can be heard in children's games, some might consider writing a few lines about it. I fully appreciated this work and, from what I see, some of you may find it a bit heavy due to the excessive homogeneity of the tracks, which is why we're asking Mr. Blackmore to inject a bit more electricity into the next work (not "Winter Carols," of course!!!), as was done for "The Village Lanterne," where a bit more zest surely benefited its success. Naturally, the score I've given myself isn't due to an "excess of self-evaluation," but out of the respect I have for you who take the time to read my musings... if I didn't consider (at least until the time of publication 😉!!) what I write worth a 5, I would feel I was not giving you the proper consideration. "Last But Not Least" is also a good outcome to see around here someone writing knowledgeably about different and pleasantly unique bands like: Freedom Call, Extrema.....Dark Sanctuary, Autumn Tears). All In The Name Of....

Finally, an objective comment (setting aside all the - USELESS - speculations about the betrayals carried out by the group) on an album destined to leave a mark in the history of music as well as the group. Enjoy listening!

It's pointless to explain the value of a historical album like this one, especially when instead of analyzing a record, people start to "pass judgment" that is often too personal. But the role of a writer discussing an album is not to direct or discourage a listener from a product, representing the reasons why??? Let's laugh about it, DeBaser is also this... a kind of Sports Bar for music connoisseurs/enthusiasts.
