Dire Straits Making Movies
Voto:
A record of extraordinary and unique beauty, distinctly different from the other (master)pieces by Dire Straits; undoubtedly, the "magical simplicity" of the melodies in those seven captivating compositions has played a fundamental role in making "Making Movies" one of the hallmark albums of the early '80s.....enjoy listening to it as well, I'm already doing so...
Dire Straits Love Over Gold

...what can I say, a quarter of a century after its release and considering that these days I listen to it often, "Love Over Gold" is truly a remarkable album, enjoy listening everyone...

...I've been listening to "Zenyatta Mondatta" for 3 days now, and I'm increasingly convinced of the 4 rating it was given, sorry and enjoy listening to it as well...

Dire Straits Communiqué

I reiterate that everyone can think as they please, but this album, along with the debut, can be considered the embodiment of the original sound of Dire Straits that has captivated more than a few with this phenomenal blend of rock, country, and blues. The lineup consisting of Mark, David, John, and Pick in some ways remains unmatched by others. Mark Knopfler himself feels this way, as since the support tour for "Sailing To Philadelphia," he has reintroduced the performance of "Sultans Of Swing" using only double guitar, bass, and drums, just as it was during the support tours for Dire Straits and Communiquée.....two great albums.

I reiterate that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but this album can be considered, together with the debut, the essence of the original Dire Straits sound that has captivated more than one listener with its phenomenal blend of rock, country, and blues. The lineup consisting of Mark, David, John, and Pick, in some ways, will have no comparison with others. Dire Straits Alchemy

Beyond each of our personal opinions, there remains an album that may not make the history of rock, but will still be a record to savor for every lover of Dire Straits.
Dire Straits "On The Night"
Voto:
Certainly, the album, to be a truly great product, should have been a double album in order to include other valuable tracks ("Tunnel Of Love" or "Sultans Of Swing"), as samu90 points out. To define it as useless seems quite bold to me, especially because for those who wish to approach the later Dire Straits, I believe it is an excellent compendium...anything but useless...

I said O.K., that's fine like this...

An album that deserved many more words... a bit of respect for those who want to read about music...
