Hi Rob. Indeed, October 20, 1977 marks a sort of dividing line between what was done until then and what would happen next. The band remained disbanded until 1987, with new singer Johnny Van Zant replacing his brother Ronnie. Numerous tours and albums followed, but "The Last Rebel" (1993) and "Edge of Forever" (1999) are among the few from the second cycle that I can still listen to. Well, this time I've kept it brief. Have a good evening.

I haven't listened to the album yet, but you talk about it with great detail and expertise. Congratulations.

Damn it, you’re hitting like a guillotine all my reference points! Among the various texts dedicated to the founder of the Floyd that I managed to read, the one that struck me the most was "Tatuato Sul Muro" by Luca Ferrari. A great analysis that concluded with a (mini) interview stolen from the "unaware" Syd. A beautiful review that encourages the purchase of the text and makes me overlook (just kidding, of course) the (4) times you wrote Barret with just one t...you are and will always be great :-) A hug my friend.
Queen A Kind of Magic

I knew that judging this album excellently would bring out some divergent opinions. The album in question, I believe, has a lot of value, even though I can understand that my informed judgment may not be shared. "A Kind of Magic" is very different from their early works, but what I have always appreciated about this group is their willingness to take risks and challenge themselves without becoming stagnant in their ideas. I believe the same discussion, albeit with the necessary differences, applies to U2 as well, when with "Achtung Baby" they distanced themselves from what they had done before.
It would be nice if those who want to express their views on what I write (always as passionate as many of you) do so with respect and stick to the topic at hand without resorting to insults that ultimately appear as a clear sign of weakness from those who "throw" them, which have little to do with music, probably one of the freest forms of art that exists. In my heart, I think that perhaps behind it all is an inability to sustain a calm exchange of ideas as it should be, even while holding differing views. Thank you for the helpful contributions and best of luck to the (very few) others.

I was waiting for your review of a book that deals with one of the institutions of music as a whole. You read, analyze, and comment with great attention to detail. Finally, a bibliographic reviewer that has been missing on this platform. Congratulations!

As a good reader, I can only agree with the decision to wisely spend four words on a group that (whether you like it or not) has been/remains a cornerstone of that magical sound developed during the sixties. And if a great connoisseur is talking about a milestone, you can be sure that the reading will be clear and interesting. Well done, Conte!

Personally, I like track by track analyses; when they are combined with a heartfelt narrative like yours, I feel inclined to share much of what you write. Well done.
