She left us just a few days ago. It's nice to think, no matter what one believes, that she is with John. Peace to her beautiful spirit.

True... anyway, I warn you that on the ever-praised e-mule (which even the courts are eager to legitimize...) I’ve found some stuff, even old and maybe digitized from tapes or vinyl, sure, not everything... Anyway, I confirm: Italian record labels are a bunch of ignorant fools, living off the ignorance of people, feeding it and amplifying it, providing a shining example of a (possibly) unstoppable vicious circle (and @alberta, thanks for the compliments, and if the feminine is true, finding a like-minded spirit on these topics... incredible and delightful).

Aside from the usual pompous rants of davejon, dear ales, we should try to discuss the "phenomenon" Vasco without prejudice and with a minimum of objectivity...: Vasco, this is a fact, hardly writes anymore, and this is the real significant difference compared to the period 1978-1983 (in my opinion, the truly genius period). He surrounds himself with people who write very well "in style", doing a commendable philological job, but fundamentally sterile and certainly "not artistic". Obviously: Vasco's albums are well-packaged, they provide companionship, but we are now very far from singer-songwriter music. And even from the authorial song (which is not the same thing). We are in excellent marketing...: of course, this "it takes little" doesn't sound bad, but frankly, that's not the point. The point is that Vasco is not what he could have been (and you, ales, for me are personally attached to the last albums, probably for generational reasons, but listen to it closely: he was much, much better before).

No..no. Tom, you and I are perfectly in agreement. What I'm saying, in other words, is that the song is dead to me, unfortunately, and the album isn't doing too well either. However, being in a crazy era of senseless fools, and furthermore absolutely dominated by an unstoppable market that generates people's tastes and no longer follows them..., we see single tracks (ugly) prevailing.

@DJG: your latest comment confirms, word for word, my previous one. My friend, I don't cultivate polemics with you (frankly, I couldn’t care less) but we’ll talk about it again, if we’re all still here, in at least ten years. Maybe you won't have changed your tastes (which is more than legitimate), but, I am sure, your arrogance will have decreased (before long, there will be quite a few little faces that will make you softer and perhaps allow you to understand the Boss's "road"... otherwise, amen, he'll be just fine, we'll be fine too, and so will you).

A work of art can be either a single or an album (especially when the latter is a "concept"), but that's not the point. The point is that today, in my opinion, a single masterpiece is statistically improbable, as the creative vein is running dry (that applies to everyone, of course...), while I believe that theoretically, an album still has some hope (even if just a little). That said, this single from Vasco is nothing more than a clever trick... "La donna cannone"... that was a single motivated by being a masterpiece of the song.

The fact is that at 22 (especially today), one is frighteningly extreme and believes they know everything. I wasn't different, or not completely. To give you a jazz example, at 22 I only listened to Trane and I despised Satch (meaning Coltrane and Armstrong, in case you’re not in the field...). Then I realized that certain things are "adult loves," but to understand them, you need to become an adult. And of course, visit my review blog: primiballi.blogspot.com

good job Alberta...if you check out my reviews you'll notice I'm part of the brigade, and not just recently. Great review, thorough and accurate. Jannacci is one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time, definitely underrated. I dedicated a specific review to the duet with Conte...read it and tell me what you think, if you want. Guys... attention... on... Anakin, forgive him, he’s young, and you djg, try to really listen to the Boss from the late '70s to the '80s, I think you know him just a bit...
