George Lucas Star Wars

@poletti: I could dismiss your opinion on SW as "nonsense," but I won't, because I respect every thought. What I believe is that SW is not simply a movie; it is a way of conceiving epic fantasy/science fiction (it's a mistake to consider only the latter...), more a child of Kurosawa than Kubrick, laden with rhetoric as it leans towards horse riders and samurai. In short, it’s a game. A game that, perhaps due to generational issues (you often seem ancient, but here you betray your serious youth), you seem not to have understood.

an album definitely worthy, and a symbol of an era... but to call it "the most beautiful album in the history of rock"... oh my..., you were joking, right?
Nanni Loy L'audace colpo dei soliti ignoti
Voto:
one of the few sequels that lives up to the first. Here, Loy takes on Monicelli's "heritage"/passing of the torch much better than in Amici Miei. However, I would give a lower rating to the first for the "mythicity" (in the pure sense and not in a trendy way) of the latter. Certainly, the Italian comedy before the devastating arrival, the tsunami, of cabaret performers....
Woody Allen Harry A Pezzi

perhaps truly the best Allen of the nineties, and certainly one of the top 10 for me, absolutely. I no longer see the usual self-celebration (and anyway there is so much self-irony that self-celebration or self-referentiality gets dispersed a lot). Allen is a great. Here, as elsewhere, he proves it.
Sylvester Stallone Rocky IV
Voto:
After the "TV show" of the third episode (whose modesty is, in my opinion, undeniable), this fourth one is by far the weakest of the six. A decidedly minor film, yet it is not without some moments of beauty.

totally disagree with the review (of course, with respect). Here, a film is deliberately made outside of time and out of sync with it. Still shots where today frantic editing is a must. Simple dialogues where today everyone writes like (terrible) students of Tarantino or Allen. And a melancholic film (deliberately), trashy (deliberately) and decadent (just as deliberately). It is, all things considered, a philological work, a film with all the traits of the seventies, perhaps more understandable for those who are not very young.
Woody Allen Ombre e nebbia
Voto:
The reception was good but a bit cold, while the film is nothing short of exceptional, definitely among the top 10 (or perhaps even among the top 5) of WA. Beautiful. I remember the enchanting effect it had on me at the cinema, and it’s one of the few films that replicates that effect with every viewing (and now I’ve seen it -at least- 10 times).

No...no...it would really be missing the point...it's just that I find it strange (but obviously quite possible, and nothing wrong with it) that someone with your literary style watches Wenders and listens to Madredeus. It's probably me who is increasingly falling victim to old mental patterns....
Miles Davis Birth Of The Cool
Voto:
one of the rare cases where objective historicity and beauty (probably subjective) do not coincide for me. I recognize the absolute importance of the work, but as an absolute aficionado of Miles, I wouldn't even place it among his top five. Still, we're always in the hyperuranium, of course...

I almost forgot, since I can’t talk about music due to the obvious lack of a counterpart, I would discuss timing: eating, and also shitting, are two great pleasures of life: doing both in 26 minutes is degrading for you and for the entire category of eaters-shitters, that is everyone.
