Vasco Rossi Basta Poco

@alberto88 and marpado: I agree. But it should be said again that Vasco had a phase, from '78 to '83, when he was innovative and, in his way, genius (and he didn't fill stadiums), something completely unknown to the other mass phenomena like Pausini & Antonacci. What I feel I can assert, even if you might not agree with me, is that the much-maligned Vasco & Liga, compared to Antonacci, Pausini, Bocelli, and Ramazzotti (the other stadium types, sentimental, neomelodic, regressive, etc...), still seem to me like Mozart (of course, that's a provocative exaggeration, but let's understand each other....). Kisses

@stoney (known as "the distracted"): obviously, you've lowered the bar, especially in terms of attention. I've always said that Vasco was brilliant (not a genius... someone who knows words like "semiotic" should know the difference) between '78 and '83. I challenge you to find a line, just one, where I've simplistically called Vasco a genius (especially the current one). "Having fun" referred exclusively to a concert, to just one, where, moreover, it's crystal clear that one (me) wasn't even expecting to have too much fun... Then, a question you don't answer: who do you really like, that doesn't sell three records or isn't dead? Mass selling has always been synonymous with stupidity, or with crazy and Masonic market maneuvers? Trust me: it's a weak theory, often the result of frustration rather than reasoning. Kisses

The problem is broader. One should think about the "end" of singer-songwriter music and the survival of excellent works that are, how shall I put it..., "philological," like this one... almost forgeries by the author, beautiful, crafted by the author themselves... it's a complex discussion (but in summary, it is absolutely correct to say that the Mitchell universe must always be kept distinct from the Pezzali little universe... otherwise, we don't even start to reason...) kisses

if the pizzeria is for the rich... being a devoted frequent visitor of taverns, which I judge my "church" and a total detractor of pizzerias... well... then I suppose I am rich indeed... anyway, to throw some gasoline on the fire, 2 tickets for Jarrett Scala cost 220.00 euros...

@iside: I wish I earned that much. I just thought that seeing the Police in a nice place (in other words, paying proper tribute to my age, my past, my old favorite band, etc...) could well be worth... I don't know... ten nights at a pizzeria at 10 euros each...??? 40 packs of cigars...??? It's a matter of choice (and feeling, of course). Kisses

mozart61, if I didn't know otherwise, I would think you are my clone: I enthusiastically endorse everything. These great few keep alive a beautiful and dead animal, but the alternative is nothing (which is already creeping in)... kisses

a thousand variables: age, how much the character(s) in question matter to you, how you earn them, how many you earn, how you spend the others... and many more... It's very easy to make judgments, guys. Let's take an example: a civil servant recommended by the cardinal or the usual club member, always sick at home (a rare phenomenon?), who spends 80 on the lawn (but it’s ours...!) isn't worse...? Anyway, if that's the case, for Jarrett at La Scala (next week) I've spent even more... Kisses again (dearest).

I must disagree. Average, very high, disc by Joni. I’m convinced this judgment comes from haste, too quickly made, and with too few listens behind it. If something feels familiar, it’s because singer-songwriter music is quite dead, but the sacred monsters are always incredibly good, no doubt about it (tell me if there’s any young talent roaming these shores, if it exists....) (then Juve is doing a bit better, and anyway barely in the Champions zone but without that fool Moggi... come on...)
