comment 7: thank you; comment 8: trust me and listen to everything from 1999 to Lovesexy (which I consider, without a doubt, the golden age)

@jargonking: yes, too convoluted a sentence, I apologize... my love for Prince can be explained more with psychological/psychiatric arguments than musicological ones; @alia76: sometimes I give ratings without seeing them, pardòn... no, three stars is right for this, I would give that 2... or we can still give it 3 since there was a good way there too... after all... @mr funk: I endorse every single word you said, total commonality of feelings. well...in a couple of reviews I read about the disappointment (which I now assume is general) towards "tu tranquilo"...oh...I actually like that one too...but I'm willing to accept the thesis that it’s a sign of age (mine...). Kisses (ugualepertutti.com)

Here we go... Battiato's "L'arca di Noè" was at the top of the charts for six months (1981) and today we can only dream about it... back then there was fluff (much more enjoyable, by the way) and depth... now there's just fluff and even of low quality.

hardrock, we agree.... for example, today I'm going home feeling like Gil Scott Heron, or - it's what I do daily - a ton of blues and jazz, including unknown names, extremely unknown ones, and local artists (many friends, for instance, incredibly talented people who will never make it big)... but when I see Pausini filling stadiums and Vecchioni playing at local festivals, I suffer inside... that's all. And once, objectively, it wasn't like that.
