I'm going right away to read it! And of course, a thousand thanks. Kisses.

Absolutely, of course. I prefer, as I already mentioned, Pieranunzi who, although perhaps not very well-known, is incredibly talented. When it comes to trumpet, I find that no one has really deviated from the teachings of Miles & Chet, and so, believing firmly in the cult of the past (and in the non-cult of the frantic search for the new at all costs, if you want to delve deeper...), when it's good, I prefer to listen to the originals. What I wanted to say, and I hope you agree, is that it's nonetheless better, more educational, seductive, interesting, to listen to Rava rather than the many fools who produce rubbish and who everyone listens to (let's not care, it's fine, but it's the music that’s out there... it’s hard not to care, really...). Kisses.

It's obvious: but the tone is what it is, we're talking about Rava as if he were a popular figure making fantastic amounts with repetitive banalities (and this is said by someone who certainly doesn't hold back on critiques, mind you...)... We're still talking about a minority of people (surely proud and often very knowledgeable). Here, in our poor country, for every person who listens to Rava, there are 3000 who listen to Giusi from X-Factor and are happy that D'Alessio saves the shipwrecked... Let's start reasoning from this fact...

Dado Moroni is quite good (I heard him in a trio some time ago... very valid), but to belittle certain names from here... I mean, to take it out on Bollani or Rava as if they were Eros and Pausini... come on... sure: when it comes to piano playing, I prefer Pieranunzi or Sellani, and I can't stand Bollani's Toscano showmanship, but getting back to the review, for example, I find Du Rea - forgive me - foolish in every remark, both personal and professional.

@contemplation: there’s always some cult artist (as long as they don’t stray too far from our garden) or some deceased one we prefer, right? Well… I don’t know why in DeB (which I still consider a wonderful place) there’s always so much automatic disdain for the audience and its tastes. It’s not that I don’t partially agree with you, but it seems to me that you’re generalizing. For example: on Rava, even though I like his sound, I agree with your analysis. On Fresu, no. He has done amazing research, has a distinctive and recognizable style, and attacking him, in my opinion, is a trick that shows its weaknesses (which, in this case, risks being the typical DeB disease of "allergy to anything that sells")... anyway, always kisses.

And that’s what I wanted to say long before: in his own way (perhaps a very small way), even here Miles has managed to teach... as always, showing that even the little toot of a genius is superior to the chest C of a mediocre...

It's a pretty relative upheaval... What I really love about this album is Mina's singing, whispered, never shouted, as always pitch-perfect, expressive, flawless, just the right amount of referencing and never cheesy. It's truly a small great album. And if one wants to argue that the voice of Italian music is that little clone alla vaccinara of Giorgia... well... the world is beautiful because it's varied...
Woody Allen Crimini E Misfatti

I subscribe: considering the 80s as a "minor period" is an inexplicable and ever-present cliché, obviously not only when it comes to Woody. Sooner or later it will come out that, in cinema (like, I don’t know…: Wenders) as well as in music (like, I don’t know…: both Don Giovanni and Creuza de Mà...), the much-maligned eighties were the last to bring forth great and true innovations, in short, "artistic efforts"... then it turned into just surviving, perhaps at a high level, but just surviving... x ajeje: I now think that your comment doesn't fit... I mean, even if Kravitz had come before Hendrix, someone would have said that Jimi was imitating, and not the other way around... but that wasn’t the case... my dear boy, history is not a detail..... kisses
Lucio Dalla Q-Disc

Well... certainly a cult product from the best Dalla. There’s a slight disagreement on the historical reconstruction: "1983" is still a gigantic record, behind an apparent aura of a minor work senselessly sealed by the Author himself. Then "viaggi organizzati" may still have some flashes of beauty, but one will have to search for the pearls with a lantern, and be quite convinced of that... Good review.
