I reiterate my minority opinion. For me, nothing can be saved from J: he is compositionally very poor, literally a zero, and perhaps musically a bit better. His voice is decidedly unpleasant and the result of a forced (precarious) intonation that is not natural. He is only nice and intelligent, but that’s not enough. The fact that he is commonly included among singer-songwriters is, in my opinion, an insult. The distance between him and a Vecchioni is the same as that between Pavese and Tamaro. But this is just my opinion, nothing more. Kisses
