for once I'm almost in agreement with the trout... maybe it's the age, but for me even without a bag... well, if they went into porn I’d pay my tribute

Thank you all, even those in total disagreement (obviously I can't agree with Morningstar on the overvaluation of this work). More than anything, according to Morningstar, it would be interesting to ponder "I went through this phase too," a statement that is profoundly true but unfortunately hints at a subjectivism that is hard to defend... or not? If your/my phase as a listener today is different, what fault can a completely "new" work from the 70s have...? Delve deeper... Kisses

heterogeneous record, strange...needs a deeper exploration (I will do it)...anyway, I judge it, as always, an excellent album...but those who know me understand how biased I am (and must be, considering my band...) Kisses and welcome

@eliablo: thank you. One of the beautiful things about DeB is when they comment on the reviews after a long time (besides, I didn't even remember making this one....). Kisses

@morinigstar: you forgot Kuhn, Ibrahim, McCoy Tyner, Art Tatum and, why not, a bit of Italians (Sellani, Bollani, Pieranunzi...)...come on, let's be serious...: at least let's compare comparable genres and styles, like supersoul did, with a contribution that I don't agree with but appreciate (also mentioning an extraordinary album, to say the least). @mev: it's clear you're a novice...: trust someone who's been around for a long time. Among the many nonsense and idiots, there are also very knowledgeable and competent people, with whom to have (good) conversations about music even outside these pages. If you want, hang in there, the right people are out there...Kisses

@romeo: I repeat, I can't come to an agreement with myself. I love Moretti so much, and I think the tribute to Pasolini is nothing short of magnificent ("inserted" into a film that is not among the best), but I think that movement from Koln is truly untouchable, even for Nanni...dilemma... @defender & supervai: thank you!!!

true: and I’ve never found an agreement with myself on whether the use of the national Nanni is beautiful or sacrilege... I repeat: I will never completely agree with myself... Anyway, thanks to everyone. @toopid: you might be right, I always get caught up in historical and personal dimensions... but I thought that an analysis of a masterpiece like this, from a technical point of view, would be highly imperfect and excessively subjective... Anyway, it’s true, and you are right, and I thank you very much for the appreciation. @gustavo: I understand you, I too (who am not completely mature) sometimes lose my way, but the technique of true enthusiasts is not to engage with those who don’t write and don’t motivate and come here just to criticize, or worse, those who create a second nickname just to say things they don’t have the courage to say with the first... and, I assure you, this technique pays off: you feel better and they, in the long run, get discouraged and disappear (this is the revolution that a paradise like DeB deserves). Kisses

@dem...: of course, I’m an admirer of Jarrett, of whom I have everything (and I’ve already reviewed him here before). @gustavo: my dear young friend whom I take pride in considering almost a younger brother (only by age, mind you), let me paternalistically say that maturity is reached when you no longer pay attention to certain miserable people. @the others: thank you all, and if anyone wants to seriously discuss modern piano playing, let’s mention some names. If this record hasn’t changed the history of contemporary piano, which one, pray tell, has? Which one and whose? This is not a provocative question, I swear: I am very open to discussing it civilly, as passionate and (one hopes) knowledgeable enthusiasts, but let’s focus on specific names, dates, and records, not on seemingly unappealable judgments made without knowing the reasons behind them. Kisses to all.

what a drag the radical chic snobbery of those who think that great names don’t deserve further exploration or discussion... the greats (at least until the 70s, early 80s) aren’t great by chance, or due to a twist of fate or a flicker of the demonic market: they’re great because they’re good: find me the new Bowie, the new Trane, here the new Paoli, and then we can talk....(but you know: I don’t understand how beautiful the lights of the power plant are or how great Gaetano was...), anyway, those reviews are really missing (besides, I love clifford and bix very much)? fine: write them. Kisses

@MJ64: well, we agree. To others: keep in mind that, aside from the discussions about the merit (which I've already made, at least in my opinion, extensively), I paid 35 for the 2 CD + 2 DVD box set, not 45, which I consider, for such a product, an absolutely fair price (if we think that a completely generic pizza with a totally generic beer + 1 completely generic dessert here, down in the north, costs about 20…).
