Dear Punisher, from a strictly objective point of view there’s no doubt: the harmony is there, the research is there too, the construction of the texts is present as well. But in my opinion, along with the traditional lack of personality, there’s now a disarming lack of soul. A bit like Kenton in jazz... good, geeky, perfect. But it will never be Ellington. (Obvious and valid objection: and where is today's Ellington? True... exactly... it doesn’t exist). Research, my friend, is not enough to stir an emotion (I'm ready to be a ghostwriter for Moccia).

I need to start looking for the eighth one... moreover, for some mysterious reasons, Scrubs is also my daughter's (5 years old) favorite TV show... and my wife and I keep wondering what she understands and how much... who knows...

Anyway, a review of the concert is coming (seen it this time) a little more lenient... actually, a promotion or almost... kisses

Thank you all (few but good): @jil...in the last series I've watched of Scrubs, the great Colin makes a comeback...to the question posed to JD about how he would like his son to be, there's a beautiful imagined scene: a woman giving birth with her legs spread, doctors around, and Colin in front (just born) singing "Down Under"...wonderful... Kisses
Vasco Rossi Va Bene, Va Bene Così - Live

@aries&iside: essentially I would agree, to the extent that obviously the first 4 albums of Vasco have an invaluable provincial-scazzat-cantautorale freshness. However, I believe that "Vado al massimo" and "Bollicine" still have (at least partially) the best of Vasco within them... it's then that things get worse, and not a little. It's fine as it is; even the same song with its "alla Stadio" sound... (those were the days) I've always found it a little gem. Anyway, that said, you are right: the first 4 are perfect, then the slow flood followed by a tsunami. Kisses Welcome to the new Myspace!

Look, what seemed back then was really the opposite of a work without energy... you have to consider that in Italy we moved from Villa to Modugno, from the very light canzonetta of the sixties and seventies to the great school of singer-songwriters. Vasco's was an objectively new discourse (probably, it cannot be denied, the beginning of the end of sung poetry, although it must be acknowledged that from Vasco's very old pen, remarkable pearls have emerged, something that hasn’t happened with the various Jova/Pezzali et similia). At least, obviously, this is how I see it. But (my "obviously" isn't exuberance, just a joke about my age) having experienced those years live made them easier to understand (think that there were people who said De Gregori's "W L'Italia" was already finished, that "Don Giovanni" and "Creuza de Mà" were incomprehensible, etc... strange years, but, my God, so vivid compared to today’s desert-like existence). Kisses.

oooohhhh, this is what I wanted... lately, I've been reviewing books, albums, and movies that received few and absolutely unanimous opinions... I thought it was time for Vasco. And here we are. Although, once upon a time, the jabs at old Vasco were even harsher (and I myself was blissfully called an idiot...). Anyway, I reiterate: you had to be there back then (not to know him retrospectively) to see how revolutionary the essence of the albums up to 1983 truly was (by this I don’t mean it was an absolute good: not all revolutions are ontologically positive, or at least, it’s not taken for granted that they are...) the fact remains that Vasco's language, back then, was new, in the fullest sense of the term, incomparable to everything that had come before. Kisses

@danverlaine: I place "la voce" among the top 5 albums of Italian songwriting, so I have no doubts about its quality. While years have passed, I reiterate my "interpretation" of "Il Vuoto", which I consider to be, in its non-being, a magnificent album, especially given the times (which are, indeed, empty). Then Francuzzo will publish the modest third fleurs (see my review, if you want), making us a little sad... kisses

"Since we are in Italy, it's one of the most 'stupid' things there are"...: as far as gastronomy is concerned, I hope, not in terms of stupid things, that in Italy today there seem to be plenty, and most of them are far more serious than Mac... Anyway (provocation) better once at Mac and four at the inn than five at the pizzeria and nothing else (like the vast majority of kids...) kisses

Wow... I'm not! But it's the "dezzameriganuèi" evening that imposes its rules... the infernal attraction of the happy meal on minors... the little feast outside... they know how to win you over... And I'm not a zealot, and for once it’s okay to give in, come on... the real issue would be taking lunch breaks there all the time...
